RE: New Version Of ITunes
Finally, after several tries and after uninstalling ITunes and all Apple applications from my computer, I have the latest ITunes update installed. RE: New Version Of ITunes
Hi John, Yes, I saw the update after you mentioned it. Only thing I can suggest is to first of all to restart the computer (which you probably tried) and also to turn off your phone and then power it on again after about 30 seconds. If that doesn't help you might want to try a different USB port and if that doesn't help try a different USB charge/sync cable if you have a second one. Failing all that you might have to do what Harry did when his update didn't complete which is to uninstall iTunes and the other Apple stuff like Bonjour and so on and to then reinstall it. Hopefully you figure out how to get it to work without that, but apart from the things above regarding different USB ports and cables I can't think of anything else right now. My update went fine and iTunes 11.1.4.62 seems to work as before. I know a few people mentioned they were having problems syncing music. Since I hadn't really synced a lot of my music to my 5S I decided to do this after updating iTunes. I did what I always do, go to my device, check Music, then check to "Sync Music" and then to "Sync selected playlists, genres, artists and albums". I tabbed to the list view of all my artists, went down the list and checked the ones I wanted, then tabbed to Apply and about 3,200 songs from 150 artists synced without a hitch. I think the sync went a lot faster than it used to (I had my iPhone connected with the Lightning cable). I only just now did a Google search to see what this update is supposed to do. I found the following link and based on this it appears to be mainly a cosmetic improvement maybe with some bug fixes and performance improvements: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4722-apple-itunes-for-windows-64bit.html If you go to this site and do a virtual search (Jaws Key+Control+F for Jaws users) for "What's New" you find where they start mentioning the new features, mainly they are: The new iTunes includes a dramatically simplified player, a completely redesigned Store, and iCloud features you'll love-this is the best iTunes yet. This version of iTunes comes with several new features and improvements, including: . iTunes Radio. iTunes Radio is a great new way to discover music. Choose from over 250 stations or start a new one from your favorite artist or song. Enjoy iTunes Radio ad-free once you subscribe to iTunes Match. . Genius Shuffle. Introducing a magical new way to experience your music library. Choose Genius Shuffle and iTunes instantly plays songs that go great together. Click it again to hear something new-enjoying your music has never been this easy. . Podcast Stations. You can now create custom stations of your favorite podcasts that update automatically with new episodes. Your stations, subscriptions, and current play position sync over iCloud to the Podcasts app. . Sync with iOS 7. You can now use iTunes to sync your favorite music, movies, and more to devices with iOS 7. In addition, iTunes now makes it even easier to quickly organize and sync apps to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Quick Tip: Apple has removed the sidebar showing devices and content categories on iTunes 11 by default. To show the sidebar again, on the top menu click on View and then select "Show Sidebar". There's a keyboard shortcut to accomplish the same: Ctrl + S in Windows, or Option + Shift + S in OS X.. Re: New Version Of ITunes
I've just installed the itunes update 11.1.4 on my Windows 7 PC. The installation got almost to the end but then stopped and declared Apple Mobile Services could not start. I had to abort update but then itunes refused to start. Googled it and lots of people suffering! I went into control panel, uninstalled itunes and other apple programs then downloaded the new version of itunes and installed it without a hitch. Whew! RE: New Version Of ITunes
Hi John, Did you just now upgrade from iTunes 10 to iTunes 11? I think the "trust" message is caused by iOS 7, it's been there since last fall. As far as iTunes not opening automatically, I actually prefer that because more often than not I might want to plug in my phone to charge it or to grab some pictures off it, but I don't really need iTunes. Anyhow, once your phone is connected, go to your iPhone, then with the Summary tab checked (this is the case by default) just tab a lot (about 40 times if I counted right) and you will find a checkbox control called "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected". Make sure this is checked and then tab a bunch more and activate the "Apply" button. This should then cause iTunes to open automatically next time your phone is connected. One tab after the "Sync automatically" is the checkbox for "Sync with this iPhone over WiFi".
