Re: how do I play Solara the game.
I'm sure what I'll say will be dismissed as coming from a game player and dancing on your head, but I think it's one thing to express an opinion about a game and how you choose to spend your time, but it's another matter when that opinion extends to those who choose to spend their free time playing a game. Just because it's your opinion doesn't make it OK to tell those who play Solara that they're wasting their time playing a stupid game. You can express your opinion about the game, and decide whether it's worth your time or not, without insulting those who choose to play the game. Each person is free to choose how they spend their free time. I would never pass judgment on someone who chooses to spend their time doing something I don't choose to do myself. I haven't played any computer games in years, and Solara is the only computer game I play at the moment. One of the things I like about Solara is that I can play the game with very little time at all. Most of the time I spend just double tapping a few buttons to collect gold and train heroes while I'm waiting for buildings to finish or heroes to train up in levels. I doubt that on average I spend more than 10 or 20 minutes a day playing Solara. Of course, there are days where I go adventuring and spend some time on quests and in the arena, but that's when I have the time to do something like that. I spend much more time reading, listening to music, watching football and taking care of my plants than I do playing solara. I don't watch much TV or very many movies. I don't think that blind people who watch TV, see movies, follow baseball or play card or word games are wasting their time doing something stupid. Solara isn't for everyone, and I don't have any problem with people not choosing to play it. I've enjoyed helping people with the game on this and other lists. I've seen people help out with tips and advice and share their experience, but I've never seen anyone push this game on anyone who doesn't want to play it. IMHO, we should each choose how we spend our free time and let others make their own decisions. On 08/18/2013 08:23 AM, Alan Paganelli wrote: Rose, I'm so sorry to hear that Tom isn't doing well. Twitter and social networking may not be for everyone, but Twitter isn't just for people with too much time on their hands. More and more organizations are using Twitter instead of alerts, such as sports scores, weather updates, last minute scheduling changes and so on. You can also use Twitter to follow authors, bloggers and web sites similar to how people use RSS feeds. For example, woot.com tweets their daily deals every morning. Just as with RSS feeds this saves you time and keeps you from having to check multiple web sites just to see if they've been updated. I've also read of things like bus lines which tweet every time they leave a particular stop, so you'll know exactly where the bus is and when it'll show up at your stop. Twitter is also used to enhance a meeting. For example, if you're meeting on line or in person, participants may tweet links to articles with similar content, questions, vote on issues and so on. Like I said, Twitter and social networking isn't for everyone, but if it isn't for you, that doesn't mean the only people who take advantage of it are people with too much time on their hands. You have characters that you will advance in levels by quests, you will train your characters with food and gold every other level food and gold change off. The amount of food and or gold raises each level as you go along. Only way you can really learn about the game is just jump in and start playing. Now for the link that was submitted to the list. HI. if you want the music on but vo to be louder add volume to your roter then turn the music down and go to volume in the roter and turn vo up. another way I've found it works is to turn the iphone down at the volume not all the way, then do a 2 finger flick to get vo talking and turn the volume up. hth Maria and Joe Chapman bubbygirl1...@gmail.com On 13/08/2013, at 2:13 AM, "Alan Paganelli" wrote: > Hi All, > > Thanks so much for this. Re: how do I play solara the game.
Hi All, Thanks so much for this. I installed this game because I guess I'm a wanna-be too. I have never been much on playing games and I liked the music when this game first opened along with the sound effects but quickly found out that I couldn't hear what voice over was telling me. I found the buttons for music and sounds and turned them off. I was bamboozled by what I heard. I've never played a city building game in my life and have only played one or two other games from my friend Jim Kitchen. I did write one of the Harry Potter games for him but that was the extent of my game playing. This does sound like a much more advanced kind of game so I look forward to it so I suppose I'll be back with other questions. --- Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2013! This link was sent in an earlier email. How much it helps can be debated. Basically, you flip left and right to pick a selection you want to do.
