RE: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
Try Malcolm's recommendation for someone earlier. Open Bluetooth settings, with your speaker not connected. Find the Bose speaker and flick up to More and double tap. See if there is a setting for Speaker type or device type. Double tap on that and select speaker if it is an option rather than headphones etc. Then, the audio should go through the speaker, leaving VO on the phone. The person for whom this worked was using Belkin Bluetooth speakers. Hi, Guys. I'm using an iPhone 8 with the latest IOS. Since updating, it seems that VO automatically chooses to come through the Bluetooth speaker (Bose Microlink, I think it's called) when it's connected. I can't seem to find an option to route the audio so that VO's speech comes through my iPhone and the audio, e.g., VoiceDream stuff, like an MP3 book, comes through the speaker. The Route Audio has disappeared from the rotor, and there's nothing under the Audio section in the VO section of Accessibility. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution? Richard, and others, I have Bose speakers and there's no such action as you suggested for getting voiceOver on the phone instead of the speaker. If you click on the speaker, it automatically turnson and connects with VO coming through the speaker, and the only option is to disconnect the speaker or sync with contacts. Not sure this can be changed at all with Bose speakers. Peace & Blessings, Pastor Duane L. Re: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
If you want to access the setting to change whether Voiceover comes through your Bluetooth speaker or not try the following: On your iPhone, go into Settings. Locate and double-tap Bluetooth. It is best at this point that your speaker is turned off and therefore disconnected. Place Voiceover’s focus on the Bluetooth device whose setting you would like to alter, but do not double-tap it! Flick up with one finger to reach the More Info option. Double Tap this. On many devices you will have a Device Type button. If you have this option, double tap here. You will now have a list of device types you can choose from. As an example, on my Tribut StormBox Micro setting the device type to headphones, which is the default both Voiceover and other sounds come through the speaker. When speaker is selected as the device type, Voiceover comes through the iPhone and other sounds through the Tribut speaker. Hope this clarifies the issue for you. Re: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
I'm sorry to be the "fly in the ointment" on this subject. But i need to clarify that Bose speakers do not offer the file type option under "more information". All suggestions for correcting this issue are being offered by folks using speakers other than Bose. Unfortunately, this is a Bose issue and cannot be resolved because Bose doesn't want us to have the option to have voiceOver come through our phones instead of our speakers. I have tried on several occasions to suggest that Bose include this option, and though their tech support team tells me they'll take my suggestion under advisement, they seem unwilling to change this, and solve our problem with voiceOver. Putting VO back on our phones and away from our speakers can't be done with Bose speakers. Maybe in future updates. Peace & Blessings, Pastor Duane L. Duane, Whether you're a fly or not, your statement is simply inaccurate regarding the Bose Mini Soundlink II speaker. Following Malcolm's instructions, my Bose speaker did have the device type setting under more info in Bluetooth settings. But since I prefer VoiceOver coming through the connected speaker, I'm not messing with anything. RE: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
Again, this is Malcom's procedure. I want to give him full credit, and or blame, grin, since I did not know this existed before his note regarding another person's issue with a different brand. However, as Danny said, it worked for her Bose Mini Sound Link or whatever it is called. Turn off the Bose speaker, so there is no active connection. Open your Bluetooth settings, and touch, but do not tap on the Bose speaker in the Bluetooth settings. Do a one finger flick up, and you should find a More info button. Double tap that button. Then, you may have to actually flick left to find the Device Type option if it is there. If it is, double tap it and you should have options like car, headphones, speaker, etc. Double tap on Speaker. Hit ok or done, or whatever to get back to Bluetooth settings. Turn on your Speaker. If it worked, again that lovely word "if", then VO should stay put on your phone. This worked for me once with the Echo Show 5. Then, VO went back to the speaker. I will try that again later, but others have reported it worked perfectly with their Bose speakers. I think everyone that is doing this is running the latest iOS 14.5 or 14.5.1. Maybe Malcom will chime in here., or Danny, to say which iOS they are running. RE: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
I have a bose speaker, I can't remember which one it is other than it's the smart speaker and is portable, I find sometimes the voiceover will start speaking through the speaker but by default it comes from the phone while other audio comes through the speaker. If you suddenly get voiceover through the speaker as well, I suggest power off the phone and then power it back on, Then start playing your audio again and it should come right. At least that's what I do and it works fine. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Duane Steele Sent: Thursday, 13 May 2021 1:19 am To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Getting VO Back in iPhone When Connected to Bose Speaker?
