most of the time I leave optimized battery charging on. However, if I am going 
somewhere in a hurry, I turn it off and then turn it on when I get back home

81% I think is a percent away from when Apple recommends a battery replacement 
as your phone may not deliver enough power for peak performance or whatever 
they call it.

That is just what I am wondering about.  It seems that my battery doesn't 
charge like it should.  Yes, I realize that the battery is getting older, but 
it seems like it charges to fast to be getting a full charge.  I realize that 
there are people that are going to think I don't know what I am talking about, 
but what you said was just what I had been thinking.  Thanks.  I'm going to try 
with it turned off for a wile and see what happens and what the charge time is 
like.  I know that my battery is at 81 percent capacity according to the usage 
percentage in settings under battery.

I have never found it to not charge to 100%, I definitely have it on, but even 
if I put my phone on the charger at 10 PM and if I check the phone 2 hours 
later it's usually at 100% already. I am not sure if that is because I don't 
set an alarm and therefore the phone doesn't predict when I get up and charge 
accordingly, but the same happens during the ay, if I am at work and put the 
phone on the charging pad in my office it goes back to 100%.

I would leave it on. Apple says it helps to extend your battery life and apart 
from that I charge when I have to.

Okay, you go into Settings, Battery, then Battery health, find Optimized 
Battery or something and turn that off if it's on. It's in Battery 
Health in Settings. Hope that works.

It's supposed to help the battery age better, so it'ds not something 
you'd notice in the everyday. You might, however, notice that it kept a 
better percentage at peak performance (near 100) after a few years of use.

I turn it off.  If you have the same schedule maybe its good but I never saw 
the point of it.

Optimize battery charging is on on my iPhone.  Should it be?  Every once in a 
while, a message pops up saying that optimize battery charging is on and the 
charge will finish at such and such a time.  Why is this and why should I leave
