Re: Siri Launching Issues
I am definitely having issues with dictation. I can start dictation, dictate and then end dictation. Then it is followed by all kinds of unintelligible voiceover stuttering and a sound simillar to the sound when my iPhone switches from portrait to landscape and vice versa over and over again for several seconds. This usually lasts around ten seconds and then finally I hear voiceover speak my dictation and then everything seems normal after that and my dictation is indeed in the text field. It's very weird. Re: Siri Launching Issues
Hey guys, Thanks for the suggestions. unfortunately I had tried the turning volume up previously and yes dictation is already enabled. I have contacted Apple Accessibility, but right now they are not my favorite people in the world as i called them last weekend about a different issue of my iPhone being unable to sync. After being on the phone with them for well over an hour the guy told me he would call me back later that day. good thing I didn't wait on hearing back from Apple Accessibility because I would still be waiting. I ended up resetting my iPhones settings and sure enough that fixed the sync issue. I know Apple Accessibility is not going to have an answer to everything but if you tell me you are going to cal lmd back, call me back, or at least send me an email acknowledgment that you are still working on the issue. Oh well. Re: Siri Launching Issues
Hey, Sounds like it is not device specific. Sorry to hear others are having this issue, and yes, I had enabled dictate in the settings, but the issues are still constant and enough where it is quite frustrating. I tried running Siri with VO off when this happened and Siri still would not work so it might not be a VO specific issue which would be good if it was a mainstream issue. Re: Siri Launching Issues
I am on an iPhone 5S and I am having Siri launching issues as well but they are different than yours. In short, when I go to launch Siri via the home button I get the Familiar Siri is listening sound followed by an abrupt bong, then nothing...Siri is not listening or working. The only fix I have been able to reproduce is to go back to my home screen. So far, it seems to happen if I try to initiate Siri within any app like Safari or messages. It seems as though Siri will only work if I am at my home screen. :( I also was having problems with dictation. I'm not sure yet if the problem is fixed yet because I haven't played with it much yet. I could not get a two-finger double tap to initiate dictation. Then just yesterday, I tried a single finger double tap on the actual dictation button. Then a message popped up asking me if I wanted to enable dictation and I chose to do so. It seems to be working now. I've only used it once since then. Go into settings and make sure dictation is enabled because now, we have the option to enable Siri and dictation separately .
