Re: New Ring Tones
Hi, I love the new ringtones, but have discovered something very bizarre. If you’ve purchased a Ringtone from the iTunes Store, or created one yourself, from a song you purchased, it does not show up under the alerts section. However, if you go under ringtones, everything is there. Why might this be? Thanks, Jessica Dail > On Sep 13, 2023, at 2:01 PM, Dan Yates wrote: > > I am very interested in this, as well! M4R is the same as M4A, all you have to do is go to an M4A file in File Explorer, make sure extensions are not hidden, then press F2 and change the "A" in M4A to an "R" so it reads M4R. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Arlene Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2019 7:13 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible You can play m4r and m4a formats in goldwave, and you can convert from other audio formats into m4r and m4a in goldwave.- Original Message - From: "Sieghard Weitzel" To: Sent: Tuesday, October 29, 2019 10:26 AM Subject: RE: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible M4R is simply M4A (Apple's music format) with the M4R extension which tells iOS that the file is a ringtone and not a song. Re: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible
Whenever adding ringtones, make sure the extension is m4r or it will certainly end up in music instead of tones. You may have to call Apple back and get help deleting them. It is less clear now when you do tab into the list of tones which ones are there and can be deleted or not. I've got many more ringtones on my phone than show up in the iTunes tones list. The next bad thing is I do have a lot of new ring tones but after checking them out on my iPhone, I don't like most of them and wish to delete them . Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do. Thanks. I would have checked the ring tones before I put them on my phone, but they were in some kind of m4r format. I think I got some ring tones in my music folder too. How do you know for sure? I can't seem to put anymore tones in my ring tones and music in the music. In todays iTunes there is no select or deselect and syncing is no longer necessary. As soon as you paste a tone into the list it will sync to the phone, as soon as you delete one it is taken off the phone. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Robin Frost Sent: Tuesday, October 29, 2019 7:51 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible Hi, If you have iTunes on your system they will play that is m4r files will play in iTunes. RE: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible
M4R is simply M4A (Apple's music format) with the M4R extension which tells iOS that the file is a ringtone and not a song. M4R can be played in iTunes as well as the Groove Music app which comes with Windows 10, I think it will also play with the old Windows Media Player. You delete them the same way you put them on, connect your phone to the computer, open iTunes, go into the phone area, go to Tones in the treeview, then tab into the list and delete the ones you don't want. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Joshua Hendrickson Sent: Tuesday, October 29, 2019 7:10 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: good and bad news about itunes and getting new ring tones on my iPhone 8, please help if possible Hi to all. Re: Looking for some new ring tones
Is there a way from the website zedge, that I can make a folder on my computer, then have the ring tone be sent to that folder, and then I can put it into iTunes? I'm really trying to figure out how to use this site, and it's very confusing. Thanks for any help. RE: Looking for some new ring tones
First of all, no matter what app you use to make a ringtone or what website you download them from, you will always and I emphasize "always" need iTunes to sync them to your phone. OK, I guess I should exclude the iTunes Store here because if you buy ringtones from iTunes they go directly to your phone, but anything else needs to be transferred/synced via iTunes unless you don’t mind spending $40 or whatever it is to buy the Waltr2 application, it will also let you transfer stuff to your iPhone. It is, however, really not so difficult to do this with iTunes. Regards, Sieghard From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Andrew J. Hi Joney, and list, Ok, I put the Zedge App back on my iPhone 5S. I made an account from the website, because I figured that I needed to do so. There was an option to select my device. So I did this. But it just seemed as though it wanted to show me the specifications of my phone. That wasn't helpful! >From the App, before I went and made the account, I was able to send myself a >couple of ringtones, by email. However, when I viewed the emails, I figured there would be a file attached. There wasn't. Instead, there were links. So I went back to 1 of the emails, and I entered on the link. It just took me to the website, which didn't seem to helpful. This is when I signed up for an account. What could I be doing wrong? Or what could be going on? Does anyone have any ideas? I was really hoping I could use this App. Guess not! Thank you, Terri On 4/13/2017 2:1 wrote: You have to get them emailed to you the last time I use the site. how to get the new ring tones from i-tunes to my current list of ring tones,
I have i-ringer and I converted some mp3 ring tones with i-ringer. I am wanting the ring tone that I created to of course go into my i-tunes, which they did, but I also want to keep the ring tone with my other i-phone ring tones I have saved over the last few years. Can anyone tell me how to save the i-phone ring tone from i-tunes? Thanks for any help in advance.
