Is there a way for us to read music sheets then? If yes, how and where can I
learn it?

Re: music notation

2016-02-28 Thread Stephanie
There's nothing for the mac that will do this. There is an ipad app called
Synphony pro, which will do notation. You cant scan the music though, you need
to enter the notation.

I'm still trying to learn how to use it myself.

Re: ABC Musical Notation App?

2015-01-23 Thread Devin Prater
Is abc notation just for Irish and folk music? I want to find a good notation
system for all kinds of music but that also has ways to convert the notation
into midi or any other kind of file, and allows for listening to the file
before conversion to midi. And I make music more by ear, so I'd rather not have
to learn all these music theory terms like in lillypond.

Hi all,
I am no musician and I'm only asking this out of general interest. But
if,
four example, one found a musical score, online, and one was using a
braille
display, would that musical score be readable as Braille music? Or, is
there
an app which will make the transcription from print music to Braille
music

for a display?

Thanks for any info,

Musical notation on the braille display?

2014-06-25 Thread Sandratomkins
Hi all,
I am no musician and I'm only asking this out of general interest. But if, four
example, one found a musical score, online, and one was using a braille
display, would that musical score be readable as Braille music? Or, is there an
app which will make the transcription from print music to Braille music for a
display?

Thanks for any info,
Sandy

Hi all.

I found a musical notation app that I think may be more robust
then any of the other ones that have been discussed so far. This
app is called WI Orchestra. This app allows you to score for
full orchestra. This app has some great instrument sounds and
it's free. I think you can load more instruments than Symphony..
I saw some demonstrations of people using this app on Youtube
and it seemed really cool. However, the app isn't accessible at
all. You just get a blank screen. I have already contacted the
developer to see if he can add voice over support. Go check this
out in the app store. I encourage all of you to contact the
developer as well. I really think this could be the best option
we have for composing

Best.

3 music notation apps

2012-08-02 Thread Musiclady

Hi all,
I have been experimenting with music notation apps. I found 3
from seem somewhat accessible. Syophony, maestro and
pocketscore. Most butons seem to be labeled although i can't
enter notes yet. I cant seem to find an email address to contact
the developers. I was wondering if a group of us could perhaps
write and also test those apps and see if we can get one of them
accessible so that musicians and composers have the means of
writing music.

music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

Hi all,
I'd just been trying out some music notation for the iphone. I'd
found one that is partly accessible. It's called music drawing.
When I opened the app, there's a series of butons, like to select
the duration of the note, and the stave to use. I was able to
enter notes with voice over off; I could tell the note because I
have perfect pitch. ppreciate some I'm wondering if a few of us
could play with this app and write to the app developer to make
it accessible? I have no idea how to go about that, or even what
to write, so would appreciate some help. Hopefully if we work
together, we will soon have something that we can use as blind
musicians!

Re: music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Dave Bahr
now that would be cool. my concern is that voiceover blabs a lot and
we'd need to hear the notes more than voiceover. unless you just had
voiceover tell you the notes, but if you can't hear the music in your
head then what's the point of that? I have perfect pitch too so I could
hear it, but I'm not much of a composer as it is. still, it would be a
challenge for both developer and user/composer to be sure.

Yes, I admit it would be. If voiceover told us the notes, and

does the treble staff, so hopefully he will add support for bass

notation

2012-06-22 Thread Scott Erichsen
Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to create printed musical notation
from the mac/iOS?

I have windows available to me, but I'd rather not use it if I didn't have
to.

I've had a play with Lillypond but it seemed extremely complex considering
what I want to do.

I honestly wish the music programs like Sibelius were accessible. Voiceover
just crashes when I try and use it.

I have used Sibelius under windows and it works well, but under a VM which
is how I have windows set up on my laptop, I'm not sure how it would work
and I need it to be perfect.

Also if anyone has suggestions for an iOS app that might be worth looking
at, I'd really appreciate it.

If no one has any ideas I'll keep researching and let everyone know what I
find.

Thanks.

Scott
