RE: Problem when answering calls while in other Apps
I have not noticed any change when using the two finger double tap to answer or hang up calls. Richard "He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself,” and we forget that only grace can break the cycle of ancient hatreds among peoples. Problem when answering calls while in other Apps
Hello everyone, First of all, if this has already been discussed, I do apologize for bringing it up again. I don't read a lot of the mail that comes to the list, due to the amount of mail I receive on a daily basis. However, I have a problem I hope some of you might be able to help me figure out. I recently updated to 14. Then when the smaller update was released, I updated to that. I really haven't experienced too many problems. I have noticed some sluggishness with Voiceover. But that's been the biggest thing for me. I've noticed that now when I get a call while within an App, the whole screen is not taken up by the call screen. I've discovered how to answer a call when this happens. But my problem is this. So when I want to end a call I did accept, how do I do this? Even though I take the call, I still seem to be within the App I was in. Or I will be on my homescreen. The other day when I took a call, I happened to be texting. So then once I was on my call, then I heard my text being read to me. That was anoying, and distracting. It was difficult to hear the person on my call. So how can I prevent something like this from happening again? Is this even possible? Rather than that, I am pretty happy with the latest update. Although, I don't personally care for all the wigits. But that's just me, and for another post. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you, Terri -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Re: problem when answering calls
I've noticed it off and on since upgrading, I've cleaned the sensor which helps for a while but then it does it again. However on outgoing calls I have no trouble with it just on incoming, takes a few seconds to kick in after you answer. - Original Message - From: Christopher Chaltain chalt...@gmail.com To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, September 27, 2013 11:20 AM Subject: Re: problem when answering calls I'm running IOS 7 on a 4S, and I haven't noticed this issue. In fact, if you agree with the way I feel, I would probably suggest that they take this automatic switching out of Voiceover completely. It's easy enough for example in apps like Skype to switch to speakerphone by tapping on the Speakerphone button and I don't see why we can't do this like anybody else with the regular Phone app. I am sure Apple thought they want to make this easy for a blind person so they don't have to find the Speakerphone button, but if anything they could implement a Shake to Switch feature or maybe a custom gesture would be possible, like drawing an S: during a call would toggle speakerphone. . RE: problem when answering calls
Hi John, You are lucky then because it definitely can't be a non-accessibility issue. The automatic switching to speakerphone only works if Voiceover is on, if a sighted person takes his or her phone away from the ear it will not automatically switch to speakerphone, they have to tap the Speakerphone button. When I first came on the list I think some time in 2010 and I think maybe it was after the iPhone 4 release and the iOS 4 update there were a lot of messages at one point where people had this problem.
