problem when moving apps around. anyone else had this bug

2013-09-21 Thread Kellie and my lab pack
Hey all,
so I have noticed something which happens sometimes when I am moving apps
around on screen.
I will have several apps which I decide I want to move into my various folders.
I will get a couple moved in with no problem and then suddenly the current app
I am moving doesn’t go into the folder I dragged it too. additionally, all the
apps that I had already successfully placed into their respective folders were
no longer in the folders and were back on the grid of icons like when they were
first downloaded. It is like it went back in time.

I thought this happened yesterday but then attributed it to me doing something
wrong since I was still adjusting to the responsiveness of the screen. I had it
happen again today though. I reinstalled apps I had to delete in order to
update the IOS. I was starting to move them into folders and got 3 done. I held
my finger over the folder I wanted the 4th app to go into, it made the tone
like the folder was opening and I was suddenly in an entirely different folder
then the one I was sitting on. I at first thought maybe my finger slid a bit
and I unintentionally moved the app into the wrong folder. It was not in the
folder that was opened and I couldn’t find it at first. I then discovered that
it was back out on the third page of the home screen apps, and the others which
I had moved previously were all back there too.

I tried again only to encounter the same problem.
I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue? I am unsure what
causes it so have not been able to deliberately make it happen.

2013-09-21 Thread Gadget Girl
Hello.

I am having that same problem. When I drag some apps over a folder, I hear no
sound and the app goes back to where I moved it from. I give up! Good thing
this is my iPod and iPad. I don't plan to upgrade the iPhone until a couple of
upgrades come out for bug fixes. So far, my latest iPod and iPad which are
running IOS 7 have become unstable.

Re: problem when moving apps around. anyone else had this bug

2013-09-21 Thread Ioana Gandrabur
I found that the placement of the app over the folder is more finiky. I got it
to work well reasonably consistently. After hearing the folder on which you
place the app, slowly move around (in my case sliding up a bit seems to have
helped) and hopefully hear the familiar beep.

Best,

2013-09-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I am also experiencing this to some degree, but it's not consistent and I
think it's just due to that extreme sensitivity and quickness of the touch
screen. Hopefully Apple will address this in the weeks to come, I still like
iOS 7 a lot, but this is definitely a minor annoyance.

Yes, it happened to me when I download the bard app yesterday. I placed it in a
folder, and happened exactly that you said.
Also, when I press power button, and I slide 3 fingers to the right, my iPhone

page in my iPhone.

Re: problem when moving apps around. anyone else had this bug

2013-09-21 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Hi

I'm using an iPod Touch 5th gen and I've moved apps in an out of folders
without a problem. Do have a little complaint with IOS7... I'm not liking
the fact that one has to hold the ape outside of a folder for 5 seconds
before the move is complete. In IOS6 one merely had to move the app outside
of the folder and lift finger off the screen for the move to complete.

Re: problem when moving apps around. anyone else had this bug

2013-09-21 Thread Joseph FreeTech
I'm experimenting with using my iPod Touch 5th gen without the sounds and
simply listening to the message prompts. With that said, I can move apps in
and out of folders without listening for any sounds. So far, my iDevice
running without all the beeps and sounds is a bit refreshing as it feels
like I have more privacy--I'm not attracting as much attention (or possible
annoyance from others).

I found that the placement of the app over the folder is more finiky. I got
it to work well reasonably consistently. After hearing the folder on which
you place the app, slowly move around (in my case sliding up a bit seems to
have helped) and hopefully hear the familiar beep.

I thought this happened yesterday but then attributed it to me doing

at first thought maybe my finger slid a bit and I unintentionally moved

I tried again only to encounter the same problem.
I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue? I am unsure

After moving the app, try pressing the home button then confirm the amount
of home screen pages. I was confused in the previous IOS6 when I was
experiencing this effect.

When i move apps between pages, the immediate pages are getting skipped.
Suppose if i intend to move an app from page one to two, it is getting moved
to page 3 or 4. No such problems prior.

Yes, it happened to me when I download the bard app yesterday. I placed it
in a folder, and happened exactly that you said.
Also, when I press power button, and I slide 3 fingers to the right, my
iPhone says page one of 2, but I don't have a page 2. Later I can't fine any
other page in my iPhone.
