RE: Problem with Apple ID

If you have a PC I would do it on that, go to http://AppleID.apple.com, then
look for the "Forgot Apple Id or Password" link and go from there.

I recently had to change my apple ID password, but it was actually a
good thing as I had less trouble entering it in then my old password.
My purchasing apps actually works better now as when for example I
purchase voices for voice dream reader I only have to enter in my
password for the first purchase then for the next 15 minutes I don't
have to enter it again. For some reason getting my phone to only use
my touch ID to make app purchases doesn't seem to work and apple can't
figure out why this is. Overal, I enjoy purchasing apps and don't
really have any trouble.

RE: Problem with Apple ID

2020-01-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Same here, if I have to use my Apple Id password it always works and I don't
think I have changed my Apple Id password for the last 5 years or so at least.
I also use 2-Factor authentication. Keeping all these old passwords is probably
just confusing, if you are having problems I suggest to maybe ask for sighted
help to reset it, then make sure you get rid of all the old passwords and make
sure you keep the current password in a safe place. Of course my recommendation
is always for a good password manager, but a braille list kept in a safe place
is pretty good as well.
And as always make sure it's not a password you use for other important sites,
make sure it's got upper case and lower case letters, numbers and at least one
symbol like a hyphen, colon, exclamation mark etc and don't use just a simple
word, name of your dog and so on. You hear about all these people who are
hacked or have their identity stolen and while I don't deny this can happen to
even a careful person, a lot of this happens when people don't observe
important security rules like strong and unique passwords, use 2-Factor
authentication wherever possible and simply ignore any emails you don't
recognize, phone calls where somebody claims they are from Apple, Microsoft,
your bank, the government and so on and ask you to provide any sort of
information. I sometimes get calls which seem legit and then I hear "What is
your name" and I either hang up or ask why this is relevant at this point and
more often than not they will then hang up because they realize I'm not an easy
target.

RE: Problem with Apple ID

2020-01-02 Thread Richard Turner
If it were me, Iā€™d first reboot the phone.
Then, try the app purchase again.
If you get the same response, you may want to call Apple Accessibility to see
if they can sort out the error you are getting: 877-204-3930

Subject: Problem with Apple ID

hi all,
It has been a while since I downloaded an app that wasn't free. The other day
I tried to get Dark sky and I had to use touch Id to get in to the apple store.
No problem as that is what I always have to do. Now comes the weird problem.
Then I was asked to enter my apple Password for the apple account with my email
address. No problem, except there is. I know my Apple password and I entered
it once and was told there was an error. ?so, I tried again with the same
results. I know this is the right password but don't want to try again for
fear of getting locked out or something like that. I guess I need to reset my
password but wonder what is the best way to accomplish this. A friend told me
to try it again and I would be sent a link to reset my password but I wanted to
know if this would be okay. Thanks much for any thoughts on this.

re: Problem with Apple ID

2020-01-02 Thread 'jan howells' via VIPhone

Hi Kay,

This happens to me each and every time I try to do something with
Apple. I have to keep clicking on "Forgot my password" and
create another one, or the same one again. I have so many Apple
passwords, even written down, that I can never keep track of
which one that they are in the mood to accept. I do not
understand why we have to keep changing our password each time
with Apple? Why can we not have one. I thought that I was the
only one with this problem. I am also looking forward to and
watching for any suggestions that you receive. They will also be
helpful to me. Thank you for sending this message. We will both
benefit from any very much appreciated suggestions.
