Re: too many apps in a folder?
Hello, Paul, Unfortunately, if you do things this way, all your apps will be updated to the latest versions. I specifically avoid doing this, since some app updates can introduce accessibility problems. RE: too many apps in a folder?
I have to agree, I spent an hour creating folders a couple of weeks ago and found I had so many blank spaces on every screen that I wanted to move everything around but by then I was tired and everything I tried seemed to make another mess, Eventually I just reset the aps back to alphabetical order and forgot the folder, just moving Newsstand to page 6 where it won't be in my way and putting stocks in the utilities folder and gave up. I'd love to have been able to do this on the computer where I had a keyboard to work with. Maybe I will get my folders and fill in the blank spaces to shrink my 5 pages to 3 but right now isn't the time I am going to attempt it again. Moving one app around is one thing, trying to create games, navigation, and so forth and then get everything on maybe two to three screens is time-consuming and I don't have the time. I know I could do it better on the computer, if only iTunes would allow me to access the process. I still like the feel of a real keyboard under my fingers, I can use the onscreen stuff and often do but I am most comfortable with a keyboard. Probably always will be. Re: too many apps in a folder?
Hi there. I am sure that Apple is aware of this feature request considering that you can already do this with a jailbroken phone. The Springtomize app will happily let you create folders within folders. Re: too many apps in a folder?
Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone has approached Apple about giving us the ability to create folders within folders. I mean, I have like seven or eight game folders, and I would love to place my accessible games in one folder so I don't have to go hunting for them, and being able to create folders within folders would boost this ability greatly. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of spoken of this before. Re: too many apps in a folder?
Upgrading as far as what? A new device? I don’t think they will be put onto a new device the way you have them now. You will have to redo them I think. If I am mistaken, someone please chime in. Re: too many apps in a folder?
iPads and iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Generations can have 16 apps in a folder, all others are limited to 12 apps. As of iOS 6, VoiceOver is a little more helpful when moving apps from page to page. As you slide the app toward the edge of the screen it will tell you that you are nearing the edge, then if you are not moving it too fast, it will say pause for page change. Pause and VoiceOver will announce the page numbers as they change and you simply slide into the main part of the screen when you get to the page you want. Alternatively, you can temporarily move an app out of the dock, then move an app into the dock, flick to the page you want and move it out of the dock, etc. HTH, Richard (Sent from Richard's iPod Touch 5th gen) On Mar 6, 2013, at 8:53 AM, "Paul Ferrara" wrote: > All, is it correct that you can only have 12 apps in a folder? > I tried to add a 13th app into a folder and it would not work. > Also what is the best way to move an app to a different page, i.e. where > should you move your finger, etc.? > Finally, is there a way to move stuff that’s on a page without making it move > to another page? > > Thanks. > > Paul > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google > Group. > To search the VIPhone public archive, visit > http://www.mail-archive.com/viphone@googlegroups.com/. > To post to this group, send email to viphone@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > viphone+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/viphone?hl=en. > --- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "VIPhone" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to viphone+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/groups/opt_out. > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. too many apps in a folder?
All, is it correct that you can only have 12 apps in a folder? I tried to add a 13th app into a folder and it would not work.
