Reg,

I've encountered no problems with the finalised version. Indeed now I
can create a workable "Quit" toolbar button for the first time in an
OSX version, as could be previously done in OS 9 versions.

Re: missing preference pane

2002-11-05 Thread Shay Telfer

Anyone come across this one?

My "Accounts" preference pane is missing from the "System
Preferences". In fact I can't remember seeing it since installing
Jagwire (a clean install) though I could be wrong.

/System/Library/PreferencePanes/Accounts.prefPane/ exists.

I've run Disk Utility's repair disk permission, rebooted and also
searched Apple's KB.

OSX 10.2.1

Perhaps this will solve the problem:

Re: Screenshot in OSX

2002-11-05 Thread Shay Telfer

Hi every1,

...however for some bizarre reason it saves screen captures (under
10.2 at least) as PDF documents!!!

Mac OS X's native imaging model is based on PDF

...which I haven't yet been able to convert using any program (even
Graphic Converter!)

If all else fails, open it in the Preview application and use the
Export command to save it as something more useful.

CommPost: Free HandStand

2002-11-05 Thread Zytech online store
For those lucky enough to be in Western Australia, Mark Fitzgerald from
Sony Ericsson will be demonstrating the P800 Super"Phone"
at tonight's WAMUG meeting.

There will also be a demo using Sony Ericsson's phones with Apple's
iSync software.

Additionally, just by turning up to the meeting, members have a chance
to win a brand new SonyEricsson T39 ($595 on the Zytech website or
Scott from Zytech will sell you his for even less at the meeting!!),
which supports both Bluetooth technology and Apple's iSync.

The details of where and when are on the WAMUG web site...

As a special offer Zytech is giving away FREE mobile phone "HandStands"
- these are the outstretched hand that cradles your mobile and flashes
bright lights when the mobile phone rings (even in silent mode)
you know the ones. Anyway order any Phone, Communications or Bluetooth
product (including our $89 USB Bluetooth adapter) at the WAMUG meeting
or on the website this week and we'll give you a FREE flashing
"HandStand" -
http://www.zytech.com.au/comm/index.html

There's also advance notice of Sony Ericsson's new, very cool HBH-60
Bluetooth headset - these will be on the website next week and we
should have initial stock of this item within 2 weeks. Price is $385.

If you don't have a Bluetooth phone (yet) and are feeling a little left
out we are evaluating a new Bluetooth (wireless) hands-free headset
that works with ALL mobile phones yes that's right standard mobile
phones! More news on this soon.

For those interested in more info on the P800 Super"Phone", Sony
Ericsson have announced ... Remote Control, a new application for the
P800 that allows users to connect to a home or office PC over the
Internet from any location and via any type of connection -- modem,
mobile phone or wireless. You can then fetch documents, read e-mail,
and so on and can even check on the status of and control Web servers.

It is a micro application that installs on the P800, enabling its users
to access data on a remote computer in real-time, for example, to read
and send e-mail, edit an Excel file, or even reboot a PC. Although it
is very powerful, Remote Control puts no demands on the memory of the
P800. The user needs only establish a connection and navigate, via the
Internet browser on the P800, to his or her PC. Remote Control gives
the user full control of the mouse, keyboard, and special key
sequences.

And for those interested in developing software for the P800 - Symbian
OS v7.0 UIQ SDK for Sony Ericsson P800/802 phones (PRE RELEASE) Use the
UIQ SDK to build applications for the Sony Ericsson P800/P802 phones.
The SDK contains library files, documentation, sample code, tools and
utilities for building P800 applications in C++ and for creating
installation files of C++ and Personal Java applications. It also
includes a UIQ emulator, which requires CodeWarrior Development Studio
for Symbian OS to run C++ applications.
