Re: Creating SVCD with Toast 6
Hi Paul, Is the lag while moving to toast or in the finished disc? When i was using toast 6 loading the movie direct from camera I noticed that the sound track appeared to get out of sync while it was copying into toast .. by the end of the 40 minutes it was almost a minute behind [ I could hear the puter and camera plays] but when it produced the final DVD the sound was spot on. I've been able to burn using Toast 5 but I don't own a legit copy of this, and besides it can only do VCD's. I've been able to create the SVCD (and it works!) using MMT-EZ (Thanks Peter Hinchcliffe to your excellent demo of this at one of last year's meetings), but this doesn't do things like menus. I've emailed Roxio support, but their responses to date are a bit of a non-answer. Has anyone else tried to burn VCD's/SVCD's using Toast 6? All help greatly appreciated. Regards, Paul. Malcolm That sounds like Disk Doubler from memory. I did have it - I'll check to see if I can find it (may take some time) but who knows if it will work under OS 9 or Classic - I think it was built for OS 8 and is certainly not going to work under OS X. Re: DD and the undoing of same.
It looks as if Stuffit expander may do the job: Disk Doubler (Mac) format. Decompressed by DDExpand, DiskDoubler and Stuffit Expander 5.5. According to this page: http://home.earthlink.net/~nkovalenko/mac-ftp-list.html Might be worth trying with Stuffit in Classic mode. Michael Hi Wamuggers. but I didn't attach anything the only thing I did differently to the questioning one was to cut something from a forum web page and paste it into the email Yvonne Text from pages would usually be pasted in as styled text. If the font's different, or there's bold or italic text, then it's styled. Some e-mail clients offer you the option of stripping styles before sending the mail. Speeding up Safari
Hi People, http://apple.weblogsinc.com/entry/6324433776608533/ Open Safari’s preferences file at ~/Library - Preferences - com.apple.Safari.plist in a text editor and add these two lines somewhere inside the dict tag: keyWebKitInitialTimedLayoutDelay/key real0.25/real The default value is 1.0. Lowering the value will decrease the time Safari waits to render. Some side effects may be flashing page content as it loads, but it definitely feels faster. This might be a better option.
