Re: Switching to Naked DSL?

2016-01-27 Thread Ronda Brown
Yes Stephen,
Are there any services that won’t work when I have Naked DSL?
Yes. Any service that relies on a landline phone service with a dial tone will
no longer work when you have Naked DSL. This includes:

Priority Assistance phone services
Fax machines
EFTPOS or vending machines
Back-to-base VPN
Monitored security alarms
Dial-up security cameras
Digital Pay TV might also be affected if you switch to Naked DSL – please
consult your Pay TV provider to find out if Naked DSL will support your TV
services.

Cheers,
Ronni

Pretty much any software which will allow you to manipulate images will let you
do this. In the absence of anything else, you can use the markup tools in
Preview, but there are much easier choices.

One of the better free choices out there is Seashore

http://seashore.sourceforge.net/The_Seashore_Project/About.html

It is based on the technology of GIMP (also
free), but without the intimidating complexity that GIMP provides. But really,
you probably already have the answer somewhere in your Applications Folder.

Re: Contacts sync between devices

2016-01-27 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Peter,

http://www.apple.com/icloud/family-sharing/>>

 iCloud Family Sharing

Family Sharing requires Yosemite or iOS 8 (or later).

If your family fits that profile, here’s what you’ll get for up to six family
members:

All family members’ purchases of media from Apple (music, TV shows, movies,
books, and apps) are charged to the credit card of the person you designate as
the family organizer. (A family member who has enough credit in their own Apple
ID account can use that credit to buy something without using the shared card.)
Kids (who can get special Apple IDs of their own even if they’re under 13) can
request media purchases from a parent, who must approve each one individually.
All family members can access each others’ media, although you can hide
particular items of your own that you don’t want to share.
A shared family photo album, calendar, and reminder list are created.
Family members can more easily share their locations (with Find My Friends) and
locate their devices (with Find My Device).
Cheers,
Ronni

Re: Switching to Naked DSL?

2016-01-27 Thread Alan Smith
Hi Rob

I guess any standard telephone would work. Old limit was for 3 "equivalent"
bells across the line (tone devices count for 0.5 ??).

I don't have a hands-free Installation. Double adapter at voip modem. One
feed to an old Telstra phone with a real bell. Second feed to a Panasonic
cordless (base plus three handsets) PLUS another old Vocaphone with a real bell.

I use iiNet Netphone service. No problems.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Alan

Re: Switching to Naked DSL?

2016-01-27 Thread Stephen Chape
I am told there are still two things that will ONLY work with a regular
landline.
NOT with Naked DSL.

One is a Monitored Security System (I believe a few people have been caught out
with this one).
The other is a Fax Machine (if anyone still uses one).

 Hi

I don’t personally have this service, but have you tried making a phone
call to check for clear voice and good quality signal? I have heard that
there maybe some problems with this. Seek others’ opinions.
