In case this is useful to someone else in the future ... To resolve this error, I connected the drive via USB. Picked up the specific file involved and it was fine. The error I initially received suggested a sector of the file was corrupt. Then the error (-36) suggested the drive might be at fault. But turns out it was the network connection. Glenn. You could check the power pack is plugged in properly , and try a substitute if you can access one. Error from Lacie drive
Hi, I've been using an external Lacie drive for some time, connecting via SMB. Recently I've had a file that appeared to have a bad sector in it, but now I cannot connect to the entire disk. The message I get from the Finder is: The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in smb:// laciedrive/mydrive could not be read or written.
