Moulage

2007-11-01 Thread BCunnin107
Unfortunately someone torched one of our cities' dump trucks last night.
When we were approaching it, someone discovered footprints. The detectives
arrived and were shown the footprints. I could not resist the chance to ask if
they were going make a moulage. Sure enough, they whipped out a bunch of powder

and liquid and poured it to make a plaster cast of the footprint. I think it
was probably a little thicker than Barney's moulage, though. Of course, I
wasn't going to make a big moulage out of it

One thing for certain, it was definitely was not the work of a man and a cow
because there was only one set of footprints, unless the cow wore shoes and
walked on its hind legs.Hmmm.Oh, and cows usually don't leave behind
beer cans.

Re: WBMUTBB Digest, Vol 8, Issue 307

2007-11-01 Thread Dan Johnson

Kim of Wylie, TX asked:

I wonder if Clint or Rance were ever on Happy Days? In the beginning the
opening of the show has a scene with two police officers in their car and the
waitress spilling a malt on one. One of the officers looks just like a
 slightly
 older Ron Howard.

I remember Clint Howard appeared in one episode, but imdb.com has him
guest-starring in two episodes (one was in 1976, and the one I remember was
from 1980). In the one I remember, Clint played 'Junior Hedges, the son of one
of Howard Cunnigham's peers in the hardware business. Both Hedges Sr. and Jr.
were practical jokers and the senior Hedges always liked getting Mr.
Cunnigham's goat.

As for Rance Howard, he was in three episodes (one from 1976, one from 1978 and
another from 1979).

Noticed yesterday that at the very end of the episode of Malcolm
Merriweather's first appearace that Andy is wearing a tie. Maybe I
missed something. I was thinking maybe they had been to church, but
that didn't make sense either because he had on his uniform and we all
know Andy didn't wear that to church.

Anyone know why he was wearing a tie?

It's preying on my mind.

Malcolm was taking care of Andy and Opie while Aunt Bee was gone and
wanted them to dress up all the time - like proper bobby snazzlers.
Malcolm laid out Andy's clothes, which included his tie and his
Sheriff's cap. You see Andy with the tie and cap when he is in the back
seat of the car that Malcolm is going to drive him to work in.

Aren't cha kind? Aren't cha kind?

Happy Days/Tags --Halloween

2007-11-01 Thread GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS)
Hey thanks for those Happy Days characters. I'll watch for Clint and
Rance. Last night I saw another TAGS alum. Remember the guy who was
hustling furs (Ronny Schell)??? Well, he moved up to bomb shelters.
Wouldn't that be an odd anniversary gift?

Thanks for your Halloween reflections Kenneth. I think Barney and Gomer
would be over at the Rimshaw place warning kids not to go in there. I
think Aunt Bee would be handing out something home-made like popcorn
balls. I remember getting those, Do you?Great idea on Bert
Miller..but he could just disconnect his doorbell and let them knock on
the door. What do you think he would hand out? One thing and then
another?

Do you think Ernest T would try to sneak around with the kids?

Trick or Treat, smell my feet,
give me something good to eat.

Though my face you can not see

re: the Malcolm Merriweather show

2007-11-01 Thread sharon dickson
As I was watching the show, the other night, with Malcolm Merriweather, I
noticed that when Andy left for work, and Malcolm drove him, they were in a
regular car. Whose car was this? I don't recall Andy driving anything but
the squad car and Aunt Bee's car was a convertable and Malcolm was riding a
bicycle. I can't figure what car Andy was getting into when Malcolm covered
him with the lap robe after he go into the car. Malcolm also handed Andy his
hat before he got in the car. Andy was in complete uniform, which is unusual.
He had tie and hat, after Malcolm gave it to him. Just wondering what car that
was?

bAndy was wearing a tie earlier in the episode, too, because Malcolm made
him, I guess...gracious living, and all that. It's also sad that TVLand also
cuts out a good scene from that episode, when Malcolm tries to help Andy put
on his trousers, but Andy tells him he can do that himself! I bet he ripped
that tie off as soon as Malcolm walked off the porch!/b

Cruise to Mayberry 2

2007-11-01 Thread Jan Newsome
Hey folks. I've been meaning to send an email about the Mayberry
cruise. All I can say is WOW! It was BIG, awe big ain't the word for
it. Wayne and Sharon know how to plan a cruise. We had a wonderful
time. I didn't think they could top the Cruise to Mayberry 1, but they
did.
LeRoy McNees, Keith Thibodeaux and the VW Boys were wonderful. The
tribute artist were awesome. We had so much fun just sitting around and
catching up with friends. The Mayberry events were great. We had a
meet and greet, Trivia contest, whistling contest, the Mayberry Momma
did her skit.
Keith talked about TAGS and I Love Lucy. He performed with Gary Gomer
Crane. LeRoy sang. The VW Boys did their show. Once again the tribute
artist were in rare form. They did a Variety Show that was well BIG.
I took so many pictures I broke my camera! Did you know that a camera
is only good for 30,000 photos? Well you do now. I've got to have the
shutter replaced in it.
I certainly hope that Wayne and Sharon plan a Cruise to Mayberry 3.
If they do and you haven't been you really need to plan on going.
I'll try to email aspecific detailed report when I catch my breath.

Halloween

2007-11-01 Thread Dan Goodwin
We had a Trunk or Treat at the church last night with about 70 cars
providing treats to 2000 or 3000 people. One of our local car dealers has a
Mayberry squad car and it was parked right in the middle of the action,
which I thought was cool just to have it there. Then I saw our Pastor
dressed up as Barney! He's a grand TAGS fan and often uses clips in the
sermons. Of course, I'm usually the one that has to identify the episode
for him.

About 8:00, they fired the old squad car up and they had a modern day siren
installed. They took off up the street with that thing blaring away. What
a hoot.
