Time for another Mayberry Trivia question. Everyone knows that my (Orville Hendricks) wife is named Martha. And Emmitt Clark is married to Martha Clark. However there is another character in Mayberry whose wife's name is Martha. Who was he? This character was not a regular but appeared more than once. I will give you a hint: His wife Martha only appeared in one show, but he appeared several times. Orville Hendricks - The Mt. Pilot Butter and Egg Man. I told my neighbor that my Martha was an angel. Here is a little Mayberry trivia I noticed this week. Andy and everyone else attended the All Souls Church in Mayberry. I have read the producers named the church All Souls to keep the religion generic so as not to offend anyone. It was never really stated what religion that was, and none of the main characters in Mayberry stated what their religion was. However there was a person who lived in Mayberry who had their religion mentioned. Who was that person and what was the religion? I will give you a small hint: The person was never shown on screen, but talked on the telephone one time. Orville Hendricks - The Butter and Egg Man. I seem to remember Aunt Bee mentioning Marshall Dillon and I know Gunsmoke was on CBS on Saturday nights. We used to go to my aunt's house on a lot of Saturday's and we would eat dinner and watch Have Gun Will Travel, Perry Mason and Gunsmoke. Mayberry Trivia
In one of the black and white episodes, Aunt Bee mentions the name of a fictional character that was, at that time, playing in a show on CBS. I will give you an example: For instance Aunt Bee might have said "That manicurist Ellen Brown is as pretty as Laura Petrie". (And no, the answer is not Laura Petrie). The answer is also not Gomer Pyle. I do not think Aunt Bee mentions his name after he leaves Mayberry. So here is the question, what is the character's name from which CBS show that Aunt Bee mentions in one episode. I will give you a small clue, at the time Aunt Bee mentions the character's name, the character's show was shown on Saturday nights. Orville Hendricks - Peddling Butter and Eggs. No one ever mentions Orville Hendricks name anymore. Except of course, my Martha. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

You never know when some TAGS knowledge will come in handy. We had the pleasure of seeing the Infamous Stringdusters play at one of the coolest venues (literally and figuratively) and before the show started they gave away some Mayberry's Finest products for answering a TAGS trivia question (What was the primary ingredient of Col. Harvey's Elixor?). The venue was the volcano room in the Cumberland Caverns, host to the "Bluegrass Underground" concerts. We were over 300 ft underground in the cave and the place stays at 56 degrees year round. Fortunately we didn't see any bats or moths. Dave, Thanks for the link to the Mayberry Trivia Contest in wild, wonderful West Virginia. Your contestants were polite and had a good basic knowledge of the show and I hate to knock them, but they were lightweights. All seasoned Mayberry Trivia fans know Goober's impression of Edward G. Robinson was one of the all time great impressions. He looked just like Edward G. Robinson. Also, Mayor Pike did not get chased up a tree by a bear, it was Mayor StonerRoy Stoner. I hate to brag (but I must, I must) I beat John-Boy twice at Mayberry Trivia on the John-Boy and Billy Big Show and was the first 5 time winner in the John-Boy and Billy Big Show Mayberry Trivia Tournament. It can be a curse though, just like the gunslingers in the old west, I get challenged by every two bit punk who rolls into town. (Sorry, slipped into Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Bonanza mode there). It is good to see two young men who were not alive when the show originally aired (as we old foggies were) keep the memories of Mayberry alive. Thanks again for the YouTube link. Mayberry Trivia Night
Hey my Mayberry Nuts---I hosted the Mayberry Trivia Night tonight and what a Success. I decorated in blue and orange. The tables had stuff that I have collected throughout the years on them. We served funnell cakes and root beer. Also gave them a piece of cashew fudge to take home and enjoy. There were 59 who showed up and played. I couldnt believe it! I had only made 37 copies of the test. Everyone was willing to share. Some talked of maybe having some other kind of activities like this. They all spoke of wanting to do Mayberry again. I was shocked. I was happy! Didnt have too many disagreements. One was about Fluffy, one was about who got all the credit catching the convicts at large. The grand prize went to a man who got 41 out of 45 questions right. All in all, it was a great night. We took pictures but didnt know how to send them here. It felt good sharing alittle Mayberry with others. Cheri---A True Mayberry Nut ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

mayberry trivia night
Hey my fellow Mayberrians- This Saturday night I am hosting a Mayberry Trivia Night out at our local campground. We camp out there a lot, so I thought why not do something that I have a passion for. I will be serving ice cold rootbeer in glass bottles and funnel cakes. Also going to give everyone a slice of Cashew Fudge to take home, wrapped in orange and blue ribbons. I have never done anything like this so it will be trial and error. Although I will be there just to give everyone a laugh or two and enjoy it myself. will let you know how it goes. Remember, you can spread alittle Mayberry around to places too, and I'm sure you all have.
