[web2py] Re: How to rename my application
I thought of just about everything else but changing the folder's name. It's so simple and obvious...but I didn't think of that. [web2py] Re: Is powertable a viable option for this customization?
The table should reference files that will be small, but may be used as a basis (perhaps in all possible combinations) for the creation of more files. So essentially the table should be used for streaming and adding records, ideally with extensible row customization for other features. While powertable was easy to start up, my selection appears to be down to SlickGrid or HandsonTable, thanks to your reference. With little javascript/json experience, I have been trying to initiate a SlickGrid table (the difficulty being to initiate the grid in the proper scope so that both the table functionality and data are implemented). I have an unanswered post in the SlickGrid forum. Thank you for your response, as is helpful to provide some traction given the beginning phase I'm in. [web2py] MVC vs Flux
Now that's taking advantage of an easy target, but 2 points apply: a) rating the capabilities of a development team on the basis of just 1 part of their code base may distort the picture, and FB does *a lot of code* beyond the user-facing display of the wall pages; have you examined any of that code? b) perhaps FB recognizes that there is a problem, and feel that MVC helped get them into the problem, and that Flux is a way to get out of that problem. c) the blog entry linked to above is by a 3rd party developer, not a member of the FB team, and the results in the non-FB project they are working on is where the enthusiasm comes from. That said, the user-facing code that displays wall pages is part of evaluating the effect of switching models. Does FB do server push, or just run a timer on the client to trigger another ajax load? /dps -- Resources: - http://web2py.com - http://web2py.com/book (Documentation) - http://github.com/web2py/web2py (Source code) - https://code.google.com/p/web2py/issues/list (Report Issues) --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "web2py-users" group. Datatable rather than Powertable seems to be the common tool discussed here. [web2py] Google Groups is broken for web2py
Perhaps Google will be more likely to fix this bug (which is probably not affecting many groups) if more people complain, so if you have a minute, please submit a bug report to Google. To do so, in the web interface, there is a gear icon in the upper right to access the settings. In the dropdown, select "Help and Feedback". A side panel will pop up. In it, scroll to the bottom and click "Send feedback". The problem to report is as follows: As of the change pushed on July 21, 2015, the desktop web interface no longer allows posting new topics or replying to existing topics. Also, when viewing a topic, the usual header, including title and tags no longer appears. When attempting to post or reply, the following error appears in the Javascript console: "uncaught exception: Class$S54: duplicate key: dal". The problem appears to be that the web2py-users group has two identical tags defined, except for a difference in the case ("DAL" and "dal"). Unfortunately, there is no way to edit or remove tags, so there is nothing we can do to correct the error. The problem occurs in all browsers. -- Resources: - http://web2py.com - http://web2py.com/book (Documentation) - http://github.com/web2py/web2py (Source code) - https://code.google.com/p/web2py/issues/list (Report Issues) --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "web2py-users" group. you can use SQLFORM.factory in controller: def page(): form=SQLFORM.factory(Field('input1'),Field('input2'),Field('input3'),Field('input4')).process() return locals() in view: {{extend 'layout.html'}} default/page.html: {{=form}} {{if form.vars:}} Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 1 {{=form.vars.input1}} {{=form.vars.input2}} {{=form.vars.input3}} {{pass}} you can customize css and html. 2015-07-23 1:52 GMT+03:00 : > Hello, > > I am new to the Web2Py, Python stack and am struggling in implementing a > basic form based functionality. [web2py] scaling app with web services
Hi, We are in the process of scaling a web2py application (app1), basically we are moving old data to a new server and programming a new app (app2) on this new server, The design we intend to implement is simple, app1 will use app2' web services to get xml or json data (we still deciding), we intend to use VLAN/IP based security so that to remove any auth overhead from the requests. Any suggestions about app2 (will be providing only web services) and how to make it even faster, maybe by slimming down web2py ? or anything else would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. [web2py] How do we render the HTML based on response provided by the AJAX call to Web2Py controller action?
Hello, I am new to the Web2Py, Python stack and am struggling in implementing a basic form based functionality. Basically, I have a view with two panes - left pane for input data and right pane for displaying the output. User enters information in the left pane and I need to pass that information to the Controller action and send the results back to the view which I need to render appropriately. The view is made with Bootstrap and HTML and is ready. I am using AJAX call to send the data from Input Form to the Controller action as shown below: jQuery('#input_form').submit(function() { ajax('{{=URL('process_form')}}', ['inputVar1','inputVar2','inputVar3','inputVar4'], 'target_div'); return false; }); The Controller action in default.py has the following code for now: def process_form(): results = request.vars return DIV(results) The 'target_div' is another Form which should display the response/results in a table for example as: Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 1 Response val11 Response val12 Response val13 2 Response val21 Response val22 Response val23 When I run this code it simply replaces the entire contents of the 'target_div'. How can I render the response in such a way that it dynamically generate the HTML as shown in HTML form above with a table containing appropriate content?
