Is it a to-one or to-many relationship?

It doesn't make sense to edit the batch fault on to-one, because it is
effectively the same as the entity…

Re: Batch Size not settable on relationship?

2013-01-30 Thread Chuck Hill
It is not editable on to-one relationships. You need to set it on the Entity
to handle those or use ERXEnterpriseObjectCache or manual batch fetching or
pre-fetching.

Maybe it was just Chuck.

Anywho, ERXEnterpriseObjectCache rocked my world! I even modified my EOGen
template to make it so I can add one or more ERXEnterpriseObjectCaches to an
Entity by simply adding entries in the UserInfo dictionary of the Entity and/or
an Attribute. The template then rewrites all the standard fetch methods in the
_Entity.java to defaulting to pull data out of the cache instead of creating an
EOFetchSpec that goes to the DB.

Much, much faster and no pesky, bug-riddled Davecode™. Slick.

2013-01-29 Thread Ramsey Gurley
I usually prefetch to save myself the pain of faulting on list pages.
Something like

100 : pageConfiguration = 'QueryERCMailMessage' =>
prefetchingRelationshipKeyPaths = ("mailRecipients",
"mailRecipients.mailAddress", "fromAddress", "replyToAddress")
[com.webobjects.directtoweb.Assignment]

Not sure if that helps.
