Dear all,

Well observed comments and submissions. My voice to Jimmy Awuzus' physical
contact is this; I welcomed the idea of west nile night theme knowing it is a
social-informative setting where information can be shared by all who
subscribed to the this forum. I still suggest, instead of making the westnile
theme night a just of dance, dine and wine session, the executive and members
could agree and slot 1 or 2 hours interactions before 9 or 10pm within the same
venue to discuss issues of concern and get feedback before hitting the dance
floor.

Call it mixing work and play, I think it is the most convinient setting to sort
out a few feedback issues from members. One question though, how about those
whose orientation is not dance floors? Pick from Awuzus' submission.

Dear all,
Many thanx to J J Avudria and Draecabo Charles for the concerns raised about
lack of feedback (contribution) and the direction this forum is taking. It is
true many of us only comment on a few specific topics and the fora goes quiet
when topical and developmental issues come up.
One problem might be lack of adequate access to or the time spent on the
internet or just poor attitude of let me see who said what.
Can i suggest that we try our best to arrange for phsical meetings just like we
are able to gather for wedding meetings or social functions? One evening in a
month wouldn`t really be that cumbersome? We could have simultaneous sittings
both in Kampala and Arua to discuss specific issues and pass resolutions on
them straight away to supplement our submissions on the net.The other advantage
would also be to get know each other and put faces to the names we see on the
net.
Building up this fora will pass through many challenges and i pray for
tolerance amoung all of us at least for the sake of West Nile-Let our goals
over ride our personal weaknesses and differences.
Thank you.

should not take precedence over the entire West Nile Foundation considering the
vastness of its membership and their locations?
When I made those remarks, I considered how specifications (boundaries)
catalyze divisionism where it’s utterly impossible for People of the same
family, culture, tradition, origin etc to stand the wave. I think we should
impress the principle of doing right things at the right time in the right
place. I suppose the memories of how Arua Community Action (ACA) among others
declined is fresh in our minds let aside the question of specific groups that
ran alongside it such as Maracha Action for Development (MAFORD) and others
that weakened it the more and did not even go further by themselves.
In other words, am not saying that it will be a replica but we should be
cautious of forces that blow against us because events have shown that disunity
finds its way easily in most West Nile Communities and Organizations. I really
don’t have any bad intention against any group whatsoever. In my view WNF is a
broader Umbrella whereas these other groups are specific and, making statements
like, I quote “But these discussions that are tending towards 'paper worship'
are worthless and I would rather wait for the next westnile night where I can
get to meet friends from the region and strengthen our bond” is really
unfortunate because without purposed analytical discussions and documentations,
nothing productive can emerge out of an organization. By the way, there have
been gigantic nights for West Nile in Kampala, incase ask those who were there
till early 1990’s, they will tell you. I only pray that we be ONE in setting a
foundation for a
sustainable transformation of our region. For God and West Nile Foundation.

This arrangement must continue and no one should underestimate its contribution
to our society, culture and unity.

It is worth noting that this arrangement is not a substitute of the formal
meetings that are yet to be held to discuss the serious issues and strategies
of westnile as indicated in earlier mails, but rather an arrangement that can
enhance mobilisation and feed into future strategies.

I know with time other innovations like holding meetings before the music takes

is serious you can ask Fred Onyai, Patrick Oyulu or our randy Sagaraand
perhalps we shall ask Patrick Idringi to do what he does best to give us a hint

We have been approached my the management of Club Palui a night club situated
in the lower section of Ntinda shopping Mall following support some members
have rendered this club over the years with an offer of a night dedicated to
Westnilers.

This will mean that, the music that will be played will purely be from the
region and preferably Lingala which many from west nile identify with so much.

Among other things, this theme night proposed to take place every last Friday
of the month will give an opportunity to promote prominent and upcoming artists
from west nile by featuring each time we have this night.

Secondly, I believe it will also be an avenue for members who are around
Kampala to sociate, interact and probably agree on some of the topical issues
being discussed on mail.

Thirdly, members will agree with me that, this will give us identity and
promote unity among other things.

Lastly, we could find ways of doing merchandising for this to generate revenue
for WNF.

The management of Palui will be giving us 100 complementary tickets every theme
night and this number can grow over time  so long as the turn up is good. There
was a proposal to officially launch this night next Friday 5th March and if
members are in agreement we hope to bring in JM Keneddy and DJ Guido to help
kick start the process.

Dear all,
I have same thoughts like of Sam. If we can get many people there, it is just a
matter of allocating time. Just one hour before dance, we would have discussed
very important issues. I remember we suggested a workshop to put issues in
focus for this forum, Alaka had accepted but no feedback up to now. We discuss
issues here and no follow up. This I think discourages people from
contributing. I am not sure whether somebody summarises the issues discussed
but this way we cant move. Those who dont dance can always get feedback in my
view.

Thanks

 Goodmorning All,

We have been approached my the management of Club Palui a night club
situated in the lower section of Ntinda shopping Mall following support some
members have rendered this club over the years with an offer of a night
 dedicated to Westnilers.

This will mean that, the music that will be played will purely be from the
region and preferably Lingala which many from west nile identify with so
 much.

Among other things, this theme night proposed to take place every last
Friday of the month will give an opportunity to promote prominent and
upcoming artists from west nile by featuring each time we have this night.

Secondly, I believe it will also be an avenue for members who are around
Kampala to sociate, interact and probably agree on some of the topical
 issues being discussed on mail.

Thirdly, members will agree with me that, this will give us identity and
 promote unity among other things.

Lastly, we could find ways of doing merchandising for this to generate
 revenue for WNF.

The management of Palui will be giving us 100 complementary tickets every
theme night and this number can grow over time so long as the turn up is
good. There was a proposal to officially launch this night next Friday
5thMarch and if members are in agreement we hope to bring in JM Keneddy and DJ
Guido to help kick start the process.

Dear brothers and siters,

Thanks for the creative ideas that have flowed in the couple of days. Let
me remind everyone of key agent issues that need feed back.

a) *Seed Project:* This is the planting season. It would be very wise for
us to use the funds we contributed for this project now than later. If we do
not use those funds for the itented purpose, we will raise red alarms of
mistrust anger. Dalay deafeats equity.

b) *The Draft Strategic Plan and Constitution* realesed by the President of
WNF requires input from everyone. I am sure there are somethings in those
two docs which some people may not like or have additions/ommissions. These
are going to be public docs, therefore, doing a good job is very vital.

c) *Physical Meetings.* Having a plan to have meetings either once or twice
a month strengthens the bond we are trying to build. However, be mindful
that some of us in the Diaspora may not attend, therefore, the net is the
most feasible means of communicating.

*Note*: I understand Mr. Alaka is taking some classes at Makerere. If he is
too busy with end of academic year work load, can one of the VP's on the
ground lead the team?

I have organized various discussion issues under subheadings and took notes.
Unfortunately, I lost the notes I took last year on a flash drive that fell
off my key chain. However, I will be recombiling some of the issues again
soon.

Dear all,
I have same thoughts like of Sam.
Those who dont dance can always get feedback in my
view.

Thanks
