Dear Akulia,

A bunch of thanks for sharing the on-going debate/discussion on Eucalyptus
trees in West Nile as to whether they are menace or not.

Much as the discussion/debate is underway on the net, it's crucial to
approach it [debate] from an informed position. This is very vital because
the issue(s) is/are serious policy issues that have real and serious
implications on people's livelihoods.

Approaching the conversation from an informed position, certainly, is my
strategy. To that effect, I have attached a document by one expert, Prof.
John Kaboggoza. Hopefully, we can read the document and carry on with the
talk.

The original document can be reached at the link below:

I would offer to tag-team but I am way in over my head with efforts to fund

I will be able to participate once there is a draft though so don’t count

Re: [WestNileNet] [kobokoandfriendscommunity] Happy Easter!

2016-03-26 Thread Margaret Akulia
Alun’gase Juruga (Brother Juruga),

How nice to wish us Happy Easter after your brassy post denigrating OUR
Jesus. I have a cheeky way of making sure everyone understands the content
and intention of a point I am trying to make by asking people what they
heard and then jesting about the divergent “understandings”. I know for a
fact that many people on these fora including myself “heard” the
concurrence in your voice as you quoted Rabbi Michael Skobac “trashing” OUR
Jesus.

I am not sure what reactions you were expecting but you can see that most
people have chosen deafening silence. Even though OUR Jesus does not need
mere mortals to bolster Him, I was contemplating a cantankerous rejoinder
when I saw the nice Easter wish you posted. I breathed a sigh of relief and
chose to enjoy it instead so I am wishing you a Happy Easter back.

The truth is even I of all people can knock down Rabbi Michael Skobac’s
boorish arguments but I don’t have time to spare because I am way in over
my head assisting with an exposé on the SPLM/SPLA. Imagine my shock when I
saw a rendition of a related article I wrote about the SPLM/SPLA on
Machar’s letterhead.

AS MY BROTHER JURUGA HAS SAID, HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE. ENJOY AND REJOICE
OVER THE FACT THAT OUR BELOVED JESUS’ KICKED THE DEVIL IN THE TEETH ON
HUMANITY'S BEHALF AT EASTER. THAT INCLUDES YOU JURUGA (SMILES).

Subject: [kobokoandfriendscommunity] EASTER: WHY JEWS SAY "JESUS IS A
FRAUD".
To: Ugandans-at-heart

Why Jews Don 't Believe In Jesus.

For 2 ,000 years Jews have rejected the Christian idea of Jesus as messiah
. Why is it that whenever Christians mention Jesus Christ, Jews
automatically reject them?

by Jewish Rabbi Shraga Simmons (2004 article)

One of the most common questions we receive at Aish.com is : "Why don 't
Jews believe in Jesus ?" Let 's understand why – not to disparage other
religions, but rather to clarify the Jewish position .
Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because :
1. Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies .
2. Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah .
3. Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations .
4. Jewish belief is based on national revelation .
But first , some background : What exactly is the Messiah ?
The word " Messiah " is an English rendering of the Hebrew word
Mashiach , which means " anointed. " It usually refers to a person
initiated into God' s service by being anointed with oil. ( Exodus 29:7 ,
1- Kings 1: 39, 2 - Kings 9 :3 )
( 1 ) Jesus Did Not Fulfill the Messianic Prophecies
What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish ? One of the central themes of
biblical prophecy is the promise of a future age of perfection
characterized by universal peace and recognition of God. ( Isaiah 2 :1 -4 ,
32 :15- 18, 60:15 -18; Zephaniah 3: 9; Hosea 2 :20 -22; Amos 9 :13 -15;
Micah 4 :1 -4 ; Zechariah 8 :23, 14 :9 ; Jeremiah 31: 33-34 )
Specifically , the Bible says he will :
A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37 :26- 28).
B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel ( Isaiah 43: 5- 6) .
C. Usher in an era of world peace , and end all hatred, oppression,
suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against
nation, neither shall man learn war anymore ." (Isaiah 2: 4)
D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel , which will unite
humanity as one . As it says: " God will be King over all the world – on
that day , God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9 ).
If an individual fails to fulfill even one of these conditions, then he
cannot be the Messiah .
Because no one has ever fulfilled the Bible 's description of this future
King , Jews still await the coming of the Messiah . All past Messianic
claimants, including Jesus of Nazareth , Bar Cochba and Shabbtai Tzvi have
been rejected .
Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming.
Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright ;
in the Bible no concept of a second coming exists.
( 2 ) Jesus Did Not Embody the Personal Qualifications of Messiah
A . Messiah as Prophet
The Messiah will become the greatest prophet in history, second only to
Moses. (Targum – Isaiah 11:2 ; Maimonides – Teshuva 9 :2 )
Prophecy can only exist in Israel when the land is inhabited by a majority
of world Jewry, a situation which has not existed since 300 BCE . During
the time of Ezra, when the majority of Jews remained in Babylon , prophecy
ended upon the death of the last prophets – Haggai , Zechariah and Malachi.
Jesus appeared on the scene approximately 350 years after prophecy had
ended, and thus coul

Anyone with information please share.

Wuwuuu. Just got this from UG.

My fellow Ugandans ladies and gentlemen, after the dictator lost trust in
our UPDF because he was defeated in barracks, he has brought his rebels of
M-23 from Congo to destabilise our peace. People on the Western border in
Kasese areas have witnessed massive inflow of these rebels to Uganda. The
UPDF is ready to confront them. That is why the CDF He. Katumba Wamala is
under house arrest. He refused to join him in destabilising the country.
Prepare to work with UPDF to ensure safety and security of our nation. The
man has even feared returning back to Kampala after receiving reports that
the army is waiting to arrest him. He has received phone calls from
international leaders ordering him to step down and avoid destabilising the
country. This is the very reason why he is very quiet. He is confused.
Information from reliable sources indicate that he is considering running
out of the country if Ugandans rise up against him, that's why they don't
allow Dr. Besigye to come to Kampala to rally people behind the cause. No
body should get worried, the UPDF is in position and the international
community is watching closely all developments n it ready to act
accordingly.

extraordinary story. Our prayers are with the family at this difficult

has now passed yet another baton to you all.

Cheers to another extraordinary life as we all continue running our own

Akulia,

Thanks for keeping us posted on the Dr. Onzivua legal battle against the
government. The interesting thing is that this is a government that claimed
to restore the rule of law in Uganda as one of the items listed in the Ten
Point Program.

However, the record of the NRM government is that of excelling in breaking
laws some of which were written by the same government. Take the case of
human rights abuses in the form of tortures in safe houses. The Uganda
Human Rights Commission has awarded millions to the victims. The NRM is
willing to engage in human rights violations well-knowing it will pay
reparations to the victims. The reason for being willing to pay damages of
any sort is because the government uses public money. And so, it doesn't
feel the pain in any way.

Dr. Onzivua will succeed in his legal battle against the government. The
flip side of the tale is that the government will use the public purse to
foot the bill. And, such cases will not be the last, as long as NRM rules
Uganda.

Aleli.

[WestNileNet] CHRISTMAS GREETINGS AND APPRECIATIONS!

2014-12-24 Thread Margaret Akulia
Marateji,

I have been completely immersed in South Sudan but I have been following
and reading all the postings! With 2014 coming to a close so fast, I wanted
to send Christmas greetings and appreciations. As Canadians say, Where did
the time go?!

I wish to take this opportunity to convey special appreciations to you all
and especially the following people for keeping the fire burning on
Kobokoandfriendscommunity while I focused on South Sudan during the entire
time.

Juruga Hussein Amin for the highly opinionated and very revealing postings,
beginning this year 2014 with the impeccable French to English translation
of “The murdered Rwanda Ex-spy chief Patrick Karegeya Interview” and going
strong with a “zillion” other postings including ones about the actual
story of his father Awongo. Enough of the fiction and outright lies. Don't
worry about the naysayers. They are reading your “provocations” and very
soon, really soon, your reservoir of information will come in handy when
the ugly skeletons come “tumbling” down from the dark closets as they will!
Let them continue thinking that no one knows about their “secrets”. Let
them keep their heads in the sand like the stupid proverbial ostrich that
exposes its rear to the elements. Your opinion on the situation in South
Sudan has come full circle but it will be dealt with “differently”
beginning in 2015. I am guessing that you are still aspiring to run for
Parliament and wish to say go go go Juruga!

(

Gire for responding to one of Juruga's opinionated articles on
homosexuality and offering a compelling opinion as a youngster. I would
love to continue this never ending discussion when I come to Johannesburg
or when you come to Canada. As you know, waso loves great conversations
about a lot of things.

Andrew Aleli for impeccable civics, history and Kakwa cultural lessons.
Thank you for treating us to some extra special stories and new learnings
for many people! To say that you are a huge walking Kakwa library is an
understatement. You always mesmerize with stories and knowledge about Kakwa
animals, flora and fauna. We will need to take that knowledge to an
unprecedented level because the Kakwa animal stories, fruits, foods,
vegetables, traditional medicines, weapons of defence and agriculture,
streams, hills of Kakwaland and trees make for an incredible enterprise.

Yangu Godfrey for adding his voice to protest corruption in African
countries and for being an avid cheerleader.

Aluma Brani for being a BIG Cheerleader.

Taban Rashid for being a Cheerleader and BIG mobilizer.

Alemi Emmanuel for launching the Koboko Technology Centre and leading the
way for youth in Koboko.

Arime Wani for the bold call to translate “Twinkle, twinkle, little star”
and Aleli for offering an articulate translation. We need more translations.

Atiku Bran for keeping us posted on the performance of schools in Koboko.

Buruga Bosco for being an avid Cheerleader and for sharing information
about job postings and scholarships. Keep those coming!

Yosa Wawa for the Kakwa Proverbs! What an incredible achievement.

Akonyu Charles Ameje for raising the issue of the misrepresentation of
Kakwa history and names especially where it relates to Idi Amin's mother
Aate. I haven't forgotten my promise to do some digging. I have just been
very preoccupied with South Sudan and haven't had even five minutes to call
any of my relatives from Yondu, the Kakwa clan of the legendary Rembi, my
great maternal grandfather.

Steven Gelenga for sharing history known to only a few people. Keep that
coming!

Agoi Abdul for being a BIG Cheerleader!

Nelson Droruga for being a Cheerleader and supporter of enterprise in
Koboko!

Others too numerous to name.

Everyone for being on Kobokoandfriendscommunity and Westnile Net.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you everyone!

As I indicated, I got totally derailed by the South Sudan saga because
there is more going on than meets the eye. Thank you Lomo for letting me
pick your brilliant legal brains. There will be more to come in 2015 so
stay tuned. I pray everyone is keeping well in their respective corners.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Re: [WestNileNet] [kobokoandfriendscommunity] WHAT IS A MORON?

2014-08-18 Thread Margaret Akulia
Thank you Milton! You are absolutely right. There are lots of personal
attacks/counterattacks and these always bog down discussions on the
critical issues - primarily bringing about peace in South Sudan
immediately. I still believe that IGAD and the United Nations can do better
and more so the struggle continues! You are also right in observing that
analysing the current problems in South Sudan within a tribal context is
counter productive and bad for national unity. However, nipping this is
going to require massive education. In the meantime, the kneejerk reaction
is to stoop to the level of the diehard tribalists. I know. It is idiotic!!

Margaret, interesting discussions,in some cases degenerating into personal
attacks/counterattacks. You sound so passionate about SSD,especially EE
while at the same time you seem to express distaste for IGAD and the United
Nations..mmH !

As you may have heard from the media the UNSC sent a delegation to SSD
12-13 Aug and I am sure the situation in SSD is catching the attention of
the international community, all one can wish for the people of SSD is peace
and peace is not achieved in one day ! IGAD hasn't failed, infact IGAD
according to reports has already deployed the first few battalions of
troops (IGAD expects to deploy 5,500 troops more bringing the total number
of peacekeeping troops to approximately 12,500) in the conlict zones in
SSD, the immediate impact and effect of this is the likely going to create
an atmosphere in which peace initiatives can be accomplished. I think the
United Nations is doing all in its means to create an atmosphere for peace
to SSD.In my opinion i think analyzing the current problems in SSD within a
triabal context is counterproductive and bad for national unity especially
during these difficult times in the young nation's emerging political
dispensation !

The above are my own independent views thoughtout in my individual capacity.

Re: [WestNileNet] WestNileNet Digest, Vol 70, Issue 4

2014-06-22 Thread Margaret Akulia
Brother Atiku,

Please accept apologies for the late response! The uncharacteristic delay
is attributed to being bogged down by co-piloting tasks. I am co-piloting
the people's agenda in South Sudan with the intention of creating a "domino
effect" minus the guns!!

There will be a bit more clarity and fuller information in coming
weeks/months/years but you have asked a very valid question. As a co-pilot,
I do know a fair amount about Riek and the other Titans and I continue to
get more reports - some through Titans involved in this fight to the death
and others through a well developed and tested "grapevine". Because of what
I know, I wasn't cheering for Riek's person but his seeming willingness to
ally with the people of South Sudan.

As I write, I am busy "cajoling" his group to let the people of South Sudan
map the way forward instead of his group murdering their way into power
which is the despicable way of the SPLA/M (Riek and Kiir included!!). I
have not minced words in telling that to their faces! However for now, I am
"cajoling" Riek's group and "plea bargaining" because they are more
reasonable wouldn't you agree?

That said, my wheedling and sweet-talk doesn't preclude a belligerent campaign
to discredit his group if their so-called democratic movement is a sham! I
will know soon enough and will keep ya'll in the loop if you are
interested. I hope this sheds a bit more light into my intentional and
"calculated" "clapping"!

Sam, you are absolutely right and Philip, there is already a "barrage" of
the same concerns you raise. I did let "Makwerekwere" Ladu know that we
will be watching him like hawks (chuckles!!)...

One thing I admire about our South Sudanese brothers and sisters is that
they have established a myriad of alternative media where they post
"everything". If it is legible, it is posted (chuckles!!). I understand
from the South Sudan grapevine that millions of South Sudanese read every
single thing posted on the alternative media including the government which
has been known to implement many of the things demanded on these sites!

I also understand from the South Sudan grapevine that local papers copy and
paste everything that appears on these sites and their editors don't give a
damn that they are always being thrown in jail for "copying and pasting"
what is considered defamatory to the President because they are always
released after a few days and give the defense of "We didn't write the
article(s). We just copied and pasted someone else's writing so that the
people in South Sudan know what is going on" (chuckles!!)..

*Restoring Peace in South Sudan: An Expert's Opinion*

Mar. 31 Featured ,
Uncategorized 21
comments

BY: Jared Genser, USA, MAR/31/2014, SSN;

Just over two years after its birth, South Sudan has plunged into crisis.
Last month, only weeks after government and rebels signed a ceasefire
agreement, violence reignited in Malakal, in the country's northeast. Both
parties to the conflict accused the other of violating the ceasefire.

Regardless, at least ten people were killed in the incident, the most
recent in a series of clashes that have pushed the world's youngest nation
into civil war, threatening to become an all-out conflict, with widespread
fighting posing dire consequences.

The optimism that accompanied the country's independence has diminished
since fighting broke out on December 15, 2013, between forces loyal to
President Salva Kiir and those loyal to his former vice president Riek
Machar.

The roots of this violence can be traced to a power struggle that took on
an ethnic element. In July 2013, Kiir fired Machar, who he viewed as a
political threat.

With Kiir being Dinka, South Sudan's largest of more than sixty ethnic
groups, and Machar being Nuer, its second-largest, the conflict between the
two men took an ethnic tone.

In the days following the outbreak of violence, fighting between Dinka and
Nuer escalated and spread across the country, with political leaders and
militias betraying their national affiliation in favor of their ethnic
identity.

Kiir immediately called the violence a coup attempt by Machar that had been
put down by the government. However, on December 16, fighting erupted
again, when army commanders loyal to Machar rebelled against the government.

In an effort to quell this violence, both parties attended negotiations in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Out of these negotiations came a ceasefire on
January 23, 2014.

Hailed as the first step towards ending the conflict, the agreement
supposedly paved the way for peace talks.

Subsequently, the ceasefire was violated by both sides less than a month
after its adoption.

The South Sudanese people, who fought for independence only to see their
country descend into warfare, deserve more than a ceasefire that has no
sticking power.

Since December, 739,000 people have been displaced internally and another
196,000 have become refugees. This is on top of a death toll of 10,000 and
counting.

Extrajudicial killings, sexual violence, and targeting of individuals based
on ethnicity have been widespread.

With a second round of peace talks stalled, the South Sudanese need a
cessation of hostilities that is respected by both sides.

The international community was instrumental in the country's independence.
It is time for the international community to step up to restore optimism
to South Sudan.

First, the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) must be expanded.

Following the outbreak of violence, the Security Council authorized a
reinforcement of UNMISS, increasing its size from 7,000 to 12,500.

However, the operation is struggling to protect 80,000 civilians sheltering
in its bases. Reinforcements will be useless if peacekeepers' freedom of
movement is restricted.

Although the government has qualms about the UN presence, it should allow
the transfer of more personnel and assets.

The East African bloc Intergovernmental Authority on Development, IGAD, on
the other hand, has made inroads where the UN has failed.

Going forward, it is critical that they work together and UNMISS be allowed
to reach its capacity.

Second, the international community must help South Sudan develop its
democratic institutions.

The creation of a new constitution should be supported by advisers from the
African Union and other parties who could provide insight on best practices
while allowing for civic input in the process.

The constitution-drafting body should first undertake a census, then
register voters, and finally hold a constitutional referendum.

Elections, scheduled for 2015, should be contingent on the completion of a
constitution.

In the aftermath of Machar's failed coup, the country currently has no
viable opposition parties.

It is essential that parties other than the ruling Sudan People's
Liberation Army be able to grow.

Third, conditions must be created to bring the national dialogue to Juba,
South Sudan's capital. Shuttling parties back and forth to Addis Ababa will
only prolong what has been a very slow process.

Once an agreement is reached, UN peacekeepers should report violations and
ensure accountability for perpetrators.

2014-02-23 Thread Margaret Akulia
Charles,

I have a better idea. Why don't you nudge Anite to join this raging debate
so that we are not talking behind her back!

She will score huge Koboko and West Nile points by doing that. Not to
mention being a seasoned "NRM party whip" by the time we are done with
her. (chuckles!!)

Don't you watch the grueling processes and "insults" Parliamentarians go
through in your neck of the woods in Ottawa? Even the ones who "lose it"
recover eventuallyThat is Democracy my brother which is long overdue in
the Banana Republics of Africa (more chuckles!!).

We owe it to our people to push and shove for Democracy. This is training
for Anite. She would agree don't you think?

From: Charles Male

Subject: Re: [WestNileNet] WestNileNet Digest, Vol 66, Issue 40

I for one don't understand why Hon Anite's motion to endorse her leader as
candidate for president in 2016 has become an issue: to me this is a
non-issue that we should not even waste our time discussing it. When I
first read online news about the issue, I laughed so hard that I drafted a
response urging hon Anite to amend her motion so that prez Mu7 is declared
LIFE PRESIDENT. I dont know if there is anyone in Uganda who still beleives
prez Mu7 is going to relinguish and give up power VOLUNTARILY.

With or without Anite's motion, prez Mu7 is GOING NO WHERE! we should stop
misdirecting anger at messenger's like Anite. In fact, Anite's motion was
pertinent in that it served to confirm what every Ugandan already knew --
that prez Mu7 has no intention of leaving the presidency. If Mu7 was wont
to leave the SEAT, he would have come and declared very loud and clear that
he was not running again. the fact that he remained silent and constantly
says..the party will decide who will be the flag bearer is more than an
indication that he is remaining president until DIVINE intervention! So
brothers and sisters -- Anite's motion is a non issue.

Let's pick a leaf from other people's around the world. West nilers should
not be like sheep! If there are 10 parties out there then we should be
spread out among the 10 parties so that WE ARE REPRESENTED. Let's not lock
ourselves out of any single party!

After Amin (RIP) was over thrown in 1979, the Acholi were hunting west
nilers like wild animals..many of our relatives were killed, raped, maimed
and scared for life. Yet, in 1985, after the overthrow of Obote, we had Gad
Toko (RIP) and many west nilers joing with the Acholis to form government.
I do not remember any one insult the late brigadier that he was giving
MAracha or west nile a bad name. If we did not insult the late brigadier, i
do not see any reason why we should insult Anite. When Semwogerere and
later Besigye and others decided to legitimize Mu7s referendum on his
leadership which was called elections, no one came out to insult them. Who
in Uganda still thinks that Mu7 would seize power and hand it to DP, UPC or
even to his rival Besigye?. If we did not insult the bad apples during the
Amin(RIP), I don't see why we should take exception to hon Anite. If anyone
is concerned about Anite then please feel free to communicate and
advise with her privately. In politics there are no permanet enemies and
there are no permanent friends. Retired Major General Benon Biraaro who is
starting a new party was Museveni personal secretary in the bush.

So ladies and gentlemen, let's begin the petition to declare HE, General Y
K Mu7, LIFE PRESIDENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF UGANDA.

Anite Evelyn the youths MP who tabled a motion of giving M7 another term un

work for president M7"... She says reflecting on a tale her mom told her.
Her mom was unable to contest for MP for lack of education qualification so
she offered Anite to M7. "Instead, i will give u my daughter, i will
educate her when she grows up she will work for you" Anite quotes her mom
telling M7. Anite's husband is also RDC meaning her motion was steered by
economic benefits not loyal cadre. These are the future West Nile

2014-02-22 Thread Margaret Akulia
Thank you Aleli. I always tell people, there is absolutely nothing to lose
by treading carefully. As a matter of fact everyone gains by treading
carefully. Anite's supporters will do well to forward this and other
information to her. What she does with it is her preserve.

Every time anyone says something I consider preposterous, I take time to
reflect on what is said. Many a times, it has saved my "behind" in
hindsight. Having said that, every one has to live their life provided they
understand the consequences of "dragging" others down with them if that is
the case!!

[WestNileNet] Fwd: HIGHLY CHARGED AND "BRAZEN" "ALLEGATIONS" ABOUT UGANDA'S "HELP" IN SOUTH SUDAN

2013-12-21 Thread Margaret Akulia
Chaka Jay,

Great post!!

My posting was intentional "cynicism" meant to "force" the "skeletons"
out!! I am delighted to hear from an "undercover agent" and holding my
breath for more "undercover agents" to shatter "Pandora's Box" at long
last!! I cannot wait for the day all the "skeletons" come tumbling down
from the dark closets finally!! Phew!!

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that we are sick and tired
of the dark "secrets" perpetually being swept under the carpet and stinking
like hell while "everyone" has their heads in the sand like the stupid
proverbial ostrich!! Awesome enlightenment by you.

The culprits are unrepentant suckers who are playing God!! I am a Christian
as are many others on this forum and know for a fact that God detests
people who play Him and He is watching every shenanigan even though it
doesn't seem like it "for a little while longer!" He will most definitely
be the one that says "check mate" in the end but in the meantime, the only
way to nail "God playing suckers" is facts, facts and more facts (read hard
evidence and star witnesses like you and the "under cover agent" who wrote
the article that provoked this "conversation.") That "under cover agent"
has promised to reveal mind boggling secrets!! (read very dark secrets) and
I am taking a front seat to watch the show!!

I do want you to know that your enlightening posting (education) and candor
has given me a lot of hope!! I am sensing God saying enough already and
"disrupting" the long running game of chess at longest last!! so that He
can kick some arse!! Keep going and get the other "under cover" agents to
spill more beans!! We need a lot of you and it is great that you are all
using pseudonyms right!? (chuckles!!)

Mrs. Akuli:

I am suprise they way you reposned to the below argument. FACTS have it
that M7

has his hands in any country that borders Uganda. Let me educate you a
little

bit since your leader came to power in Uganda. below are facts:

1- In early 90s the very soldiers in Uganda went to Rwanda (M7 hands). He
kept

saying that he didn't not know.

2- M7 invaded Zaire now Congo topple Mobutu and since then see what
happened

there.

3- South Sudan. This ia a long history here. When M7 took over Uganda in
1986,

he personally made a plan with late Garang for SPLA to chase all the
refugees

in South Sudan and most of this refugees where from West-Nile. All the
people

(refugees) where driven and the stuff where looted by SPLA. It was a
classic M7

plan.

4- The war in Southern Sudan/ This is a classic interference of M7. Ugandan

soldiers where send to fight on behalf of SPLA. I know some of the soldiers
who

fought there and died there albeit with no help for their families.

Do you remember all the bomb falling on Moyo and yet M7 NEVER responded to
it.

No one should doubt that M7 is involved in South Sudan. Where there is
smoke

there is fire.

-Chaka J

PS. For your information I am from Moyo and I work in the Uganda
intelligent

agency.

[WestNileNet] THE PRECARIOUS SITUATION IN SOUTH SUDAN

2013-12-20 Thread Margaret Akulia
Kudos to the Uganda Air Force for indiscriminately "air lifting" people out
of harm's way (read evacuation by the Ugandan Airforce). I have been in
contact with family in Uganda and South Sudan and reports on the ground
suggest that many people have returned to Uganda until the situation
returns to normal in South Sudan if at all but others are "waiting it out"
in Yei. Additional more couldn't be reached because of "network problems"
especially in Juba.

I am not entirely sure any "appearance of normalcy returning to Juba" and
any "hope of peace talks" can be trusted. Anyone who lived in Juba in the
80s as I did will attest to the "anarchy" and chaos that would always
erupt when Dinka, Nuer and other South Sudan tribes started fighting and
killing each other at Konyokonyo market. They didn't give a rat's arse
about the Police and sometimes even the Army. I couldn't believe my ears as
a "fighter" from one of the Bari speaking tribes recounted how he killed a
Dinka at Konyokonyo. It was as if he was saying let's go to
the mallh... (
https://radiotamazuj.org/en/article/main-market-closed-after-panic-parts-juba).
I have tons of other illustrations but I will hold my breath for now and
just caution Ugandans to come and "wait out" the situation in Uganda
instead of gambling their lives to a "repeat Rwanda" which a worst case
scenario I wouldn't tempt fate wtih.

My two cents worth!!

Juruga,

Thank you for a very well thought out eulogy/condolence message to the
Mandela family. I couldn’t find it on the Daily Monitor for some reason but
Hear Hear to everything you said!!

Amonye Mandela (Father Mandela in the Kakwa language) ran a very long,
arduous race but he passed the baton with incredible success!! It is now up
to all of us to run our own races lest we become the generations that drop
“Madiba’s baton”.

“Let those who have ears hear what has been said and what will continue to
be said” about Madiba and it is my prayer that there are more people with
ears than without ears because we need to emulate Madiba’s example(s) for
our own sake.

You are absolutely right. Madiba thanked your late father Idi Amin upon his
release from prison but I don’t think many people know exactly why.

forgiveness.

And once free you never forgot those that fought for your freedom.

You came out when everything had changed to find a New World with different
political alliances.

But even then, You made sure you thanked all the people who had stood
behind you in your time of need.

Nelson Mandela visited Fidel Castro in Cuba and thanked Col. Muammar
Ghaddafi of Libya.

He praised China and also thanked my late father Idi Amin upon his release.

People who the world at the time wasn't ready to see him shake hands with.
But he did give them due recognition and heartfelt thanks.

He did it because of his strong principals. The ones which urge any morally
upright human being to recognize those who helped them during their darkest
hours.

Because Nelson Mandela was someone whose heart and mind were above the
politicking he found in the new world.

As he sat in jail, he obviously kept himself aware of all those that had
joined the fight against Apartheid, the fight for his freedom and for the
freedom of the people of South Africa.

Today we all mourn a same father of Africa. We mourn because we know that
he is gone and there is no one that will ever be able to replace him.

And yes he is irreplaceable, but we still hope that Africa emulates him.

I call upon our current African leaders to climb down from the tree of
obsessive power that Mandela so skillfully avoided. Because you will not
find happiness up there alone.

Come and join your people, the common man and woman of Africa in their
daily efforts to feed and educate their children.

Join them and give them a future they can look forward to.

We are all standing, waiting for you at the foot of the tree. Ready to
chant and dance with you to the tunes of our ancestors. Ready to offer you
our lives for protection. If only you could permanently be with us, talk
with us and eat with us.

Those are the very virtues that Nelson Mandela spent his time healing South
Africa with.

And it is those lessons of simplicity and determination that raised Nelson
Mandela to even greater achievements.

He handed over power to a new, younger generation that would have to learn
on the job.

And in doing so he enshrined for his people the right to freely and
peacefully elect a path of their choice.

That was a natural parenting principal of any father. Only that this time
the whole nation of South Africa was Nelson Mandela's family.

And he did it by overcoming the fear of errors by a new generation of
leaders in his country.

Because he knew that the sooner he achieved that handover, the better it
was for generations and generations of his people and the people of this
continent.

Because any first peaceful hand-over of power is a massively significant
breakthrough for those who have a higher and genuine moral commitment for
the brighter future of their country.

It is an institution in itself whose value only someone like Mandela could
properly understand.

Because only genuine leaders comparable to Mandela could feel the burden of
the grandchildren and great grandchildren into the future and know that
this was the right thing to do for their country regardless of the
immediate inadequacies.

He chose to do the right thing even when he could have defeated any other
candidate hands down in any election ring.

And therefore his actions are ones that we cannot afford to ignore, but
rather we should seek to understand him so that we act with purpose and
with conviction of a greater good.

Because Nelson Mandela has shown us the path of a true peoples leadership
for Africa.
