Is there a way to mirror the changes made, in this instance add the label to the icon? On mobile screens the label disappears again and only shows the icon, so it seems to be very similar to what we've done. In general it seems to me the icons and texts need a little more tweeking regarding the spacing. So maybe we want to wait until this is fixed? Hanna_Petruschat_WMDE added a comment. I just talked to Charlie and Sarai, but give a quick insight on the reasoning of the box shadow for termbox. There indeed is no box shadow in the OOUI doc, but if you look at the progressbar in use, then you'll notice one. From a design perspective that makes sense as otherwise the grey outline of the progress bar could be confusedwith something from under the white overlay. If you figured 3px in Termbox and maybe 2px in OOUI I wont discuss on the pixel. I think it's important to have it aligned in production. If that means taing away a pixel from termbox. Do it. I just discovered, that in the real mobile Wikidata the styling of the section "in more languages" already happened but also causes that this section cannot be expanded. See screenshot below. In case of a screen narrower than 340px it would be great to have the screen horizontally scrolling. In regards of the horizontal spacing: From what I can see the most pressing spacing issue is between the end of one section, e.g. "in more languages" and the section header of "All entered Languages". In the screenshot, the whole width of the categories have a background color, including the so called interaction column. In the mock up above you can see that the right side has a white strip. TASK DESCRIPTION **TODO** Make this a real story written story!! As a user of the termbox I want to switch to edit mode at every position of the termbox. Currently the edit button is only placed next to the interface language of an item. Therefor we want to show a floating button, which appears when the original button has left the screen (because of scrolling) and keeps it position throughtout scrolling to the end of the termbox. Here is what happened: 1. click "edit pen" 2. click "Create an Account" in the overlay 3. create an account page in desktop version opens 4. created an account 5. get redirected to the item page I came from (now also in desktop version) 6. switch to mobile by clicking the "mobile version" link 7. checking, if I'm still logged in (**I'm not**) Then the circle of the above begins: clicking the edit pen, click "log in" in the overlay, get directed to the desktop log in page, but instantly automagically logged in in the background and redirected to the desktop item page (without any action of mine). I could click it away but got it back when reloading as it stated. @Pablo-WMDE if you like, you can test and reproduce on my machine. I "messed up" with the IP overlay, not being aware that every other overlay in the Wikiworld works with 50% white and not with 25% black as I initially specified. So we might want to adapt to the white version here and make this small change in the IP and license overlay as well. One more suggestion: Assuming that no one likes to see an error message and we already know, that hitting publish again could solve the issue: Could we automatically hit publish again in the background when we didn't hear back from the server and only if it doesn't work after 3 tries we then let the user know that unfortunately they have to reload because we didn't manage? Checking back with other UX peeps I'd suggest having the tab set to the element before the CTA so you would only be one keyboard hit away from focussing it but not distract users by visual differences which are not made use of anywhere elyse. tl;dr - no instant focus - only one tab click away to focus the "Log in" button Thanks! If I look at the initial fonts on my machine, they appear all way heavier than the ones represented in the OOUI demos <https://doc.wikimedia.org/oojs-ui/master/demos/?page=widgets&theme=wikimediaui&direction=ltr&platform=desktop#demo-section-buttons>. I played around with the font weight to get to the numbers mentioned above. So maybe it's okay to not see a difference on your device? Hanna_Petruschat_WMDE added a comment. looks perfectly fine to me \o/ Interestingly enough, the OS adjusts some styling (see screenshot). the label and description boxes haves inside shadows noe and the alias focus field has rounded corner inside the rounded corners of the outline. BUT I think this should not stall this task any further. There might be valid reasons to not totally kill any styling coming from the user(s OS). Some are not 100% related to this task, but I'll note them all here to not forget them. 1. the border of the alias fields are higher than the other entry fields, probably because there is padding between the entry fields and the outline indicating a fake field. Can we make it work that everything has the same size? 2. the borders of the entry fields should have a 2px border-radius 3. when hitting the x to cancel, the entries are being published. This is for all entry fields (label, descriptions, alias) 4. at breakpoint 3 (all entry fields next to each other), the entry fields are not aligned at the same heights. the description fields are 1 px lower. I'm not a 100% sure if one of this is related to that ticket. If not, I'm more than happy to put this to done and copy/paste the above to a new "bug" ticket. One question regarding the screenshot: The input field is way narrower than the outline. Does the width automatically adjust to the content? In my understanding the input field should always be almost as wide as the outline surrounding the aliases. @Lea_WMDE you might want to look at this as well. I would argue though changing the background color could have two disadvantages We use blue as a background color for things being in edit mode. Even though you chose a different one, this might be confusing. The difference between the grey and the light blue might not be accessible to everyone. Therefor I propose to consider either Jan's suggestion to take advantage of browsers highlighting mechanism. Or, in case we want to have a highlight which remains, use a 2px blue border. Hanna_Petruschat_WMDE added a comment. My suggestion for the "Suggestion constraint" would be a flag. A flag only highlights a fact conveniently enough it is already in the OOUI collection. I adapted the icon to be an outline icon and therefor be a bit more subtle, similar to the existing ones. I also adjusted the "potential issue"/exclamation mark to slowly adapt to the notice icon from the OOUI collection. The mandatory-icon should remain as is. In order to have a more gentle approach for suggestions I highly recommend a text change. Currently it says: Potential Issue "item requires statement constraint An entity with native language should also have a statement languages spoken, written or signed ." If this is an example for a suggestion I would change the text to something like: Suggestion/Suggested Addition For entities with native language we suggest to add statements for languages spoken, written or signed." @Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE I'm happy to discuss text changes. It would also make sense to involve communication people in this regard. Just to clarify: In portrait mode the text break rather early, and I expect it should run for longer (but I might also not be up to date with the breakpoint specifications) Figma says "column scale from 260 to 420 px" - I believe that's the maximum width we are seeing. The break is wanted as lines are easier to read if there are around 60 characters. The rule of thumb for spacing of the text is: heights of the text plus 8 px, eg. for a one line text that means: font: 24 px plus 8 px makes a text box of 32 px height font is centered in that box for two line text that means: 2*24 px=48 px plus 8 px makes a box of 56 px height font is centered in that as well. line heights is 100%. (Show Details) CHANGES TO TASK DESCRIPTIONBuild a prototype in Vue.js based on UX's design**Current story** In T126510 it was asked to have a solution for adding a language string to the term box, even if there is no other label, description or alias from this language entered yet. As of now, there is only a gadget to help this problem. It was also asked for autonomous language selection not necessarily connected to the Babel box or geolocation. **Current Problem** The UX team built a [[ https://1m8ihe.axshare.com/#g=1&p=home | here ]] Additional instructionsprototype ]] with instructions to be found [[ https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Usability_and_usefulness/Feedback_round_17-12_Term_box_Behavior | here ]] proposing a solution. We found out that a main issue with that prototype was the low level of complexity. This is due to fairly complicated processes of prototyping with design tools, which then on the other hand just offer high level layouts. We have a big gap to bridge expactations in that case. **Possible Solution** We think it is more useful to develope prototypes with the programmers. This helps on one hand figuring out possibilities and limitations technical wise and also raises understanding on boths side. Building the prototype in vue can be a great way of handling the task. Hanna_Petruschat_WMDE added a comment. Thanks for the further insights. From a non-coder perspective I interpreted the word "term" differently. But as a string it makes sense. I like the "Labels and Descriptions" as it says, what the box actually has to offer and also picks up on words already been shown. I know this is not a super important issue rn but in terms of transparency (which includes understandibility in my opinion), I would like to use wording which is clear to a lot of/most people. We are going to reach out to users in the next days to get their opinion on the current state of the "Labels and Descriptions".
