This is a Karnataka State requirement. Kindly petition the government if you want a change. We are only following advice from our consultant. Jayantilal, I do live in the 21st century, so does everyone else, I hope you are aware of that. The paper form requirement is a requirement because the Registrar of Societies Karnataka requires a physical copy of the applicant's signature. This is why we cannot accept scanned forms. This is no trick. If your DD was sent to the right address in 2012/2013, I'm sure it must have been processed, that's how I registered /renewed myself. As I stated earlier, you ca ALSO do a NEFT transfer, that is paperless you know. You can do this from the comfort of your home, no need to actually go to the post office, you can put the envelope in a post box, it still reaches. As far as I know, membership in a non-profit in India is not limited to Indian nationals. A change whould be most welcomed. Dear Yann, It was not a restriction the founding EC members put in did but a limitation required by the authorities (as advised by our consultant) to get the registration of the society through. We do know there are indophiles around the world who may want to sign up. Unfortunately we didn't have that flexibility then. The current EC may want to check if this is allowable now. The process is a lengthy and time consuming one because it involves a lot of running around. If any changes do take place, we will let everyone know. Dear friends, Some of you may not have renewed your membership yet. Kindly do this at the earliest. End of June will mark the expiry of the 3 month grace period. In order to be more compliant with our eligibility requirement, we now need members to submit a proof of age and nationality. This would be a one time requirement. Future renewals will not need this. All existing members who renewed recently are also required to send this document to complete our records. To meet this requirement, we need any government issued identity document that contains the name, photograph, date of birth and nationality of the member. For example: driving license, passport, PAN card, and electoral identity card are some of the documents that would meet the requirement. Send us the copy for any one of these. Please mention your membership number for easy archiving.
