Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
Glad you clarified Have you ever tried the Motorla PTP Series? 400, 500 and 600 ? The 500 uses a 15 mhz channel for a top speed of 100 Mbps, the PTP 600 can achieve 300 Mbps with a 30 Mhz channel Give me the coordinates of both sites to give you a idea of the achievable BW of your links, (with interference factor) Gino A. Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
This is exactly why I am so gratified to see that every new band the FCC has announced in past few years REQUIRES ATPC. This makes bands like 5.4, 5.3 and 3650 much better in terms of noise -- no screamers allowed. That is the single best thing they have done in the UL bands, though not many appreciate the significance of Automatic Transmit Power Control. Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
In order to check if the problem is related to interference, you can always do an Spectrum Analysis, after that BreezeCONFIG will show you exactly what is causing noise in every channel. If you do not find a reliable 40MHz channel, I suggest you to go on with 20MHz. In case you find problems of packet loss, you can play with the decision thresholds (from normal to high) or the HW retries in the performance menu (if I remember well). Good luck On 4/14/08, Jack Unger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Sounds like interference on the other channels may be your problem. > > Gustavo Santos wrote: > > that exactly the problem i´m having, its just works in one channel, 5860 > and > > 20mhz, when i choose 40mhz and 5850 i get at most 10mbps , worse them > the > > almost 35mbits at 20mhz. the worst problem i could notice is that the > > alvarion work or dont work, anything diferent from 5860 is 500kbps or > doesnt > > even associate with the base . > > > > > > > > > > 2008/4/14, Javier Arigita <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > > >> My experience is restricted to ETSI B100 (1W EIRP) and to be honest, I > >> agree > >> with you, it was quite difficult to stablish a reliable 60-70Mbps link > on > >> more than 2-3km, in urban environment (LOS but a little bit noisy). Any idea or setting that i can change to make the link more noisy resistant? Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
If that is the case then I can assure you that you have some noise issues in the band. The noise immunity control needs to be disabled for sure if you have not already. Their noise immunity controls do not work and cause more trouble than they are designed to fix. I do get good results when we use 20 MHz sized channels, keep noise immunity control switched off and stay away from interference. Trying to use 40 MHz channels in 5.8 GHz is a bit like trying to drive down a 2 lane highway down the center of the road at 120 MPH. Eventually something is going to interfere with your plans. Sounds like interference on the other channels may be your problem. Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
that exactly the problem i´m having, its just works in one channel, 5860 and 20mhz, when i choose 40mhz and 5850 i get at most 10mbps , worse them the almost 35mbits at 20mhz. the worst problem i could notice is that the alvarion work or dont work, anything diferent from 5860 is 500kbps or doesnt even associate with the base . 2008/4/14, Javier Arigita <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > My experience is restricted to ETSI B100 (1W EIRP) and to be honest, I > agree > with you, it was quite difficult to stablish a reliable 60-70Mbps link on > more than 2-3km, in urban environment (LOS but a little bit noisy). Re: [WISPA] Problems with Alvarion BreezeAccess VL and Breeznet B100
My experience is restricted to ETSI B100 (1W EIRP) and to be honest, I agree with you, it was quite difficult to stablish a reliable 60-70Mbps link on more than 2-3km, in urban environment (LOS but a little bit noisy). In average, we have gotten around 40-50Mbps. The 40MHz channel in B100 is very noise sensitive. On 4/14/08, David E. Motorola PTP product provides the true layer 2 Ethernet connection, the throughput is not limited by packet per seconds. For example, the PTP600 can support more than 400K packget per second on 64 byte pack... That's me! Thanks for the kind words John. I would 1st run a spectrum analysis to see what the radio thinks it hears. Channel select accordingly. In a high noise environment go the the advanced menu, air interface, noise immunity state control and set it to manual. Give that a shot.
