Hi Rich,
You are causing QRM as long as any of your transmitted FSK frequencies hits any
of the FSK frequencies of the calling station. FT8 signal FSK frequencies are
distributed over 50 Hz band and that’s why the Tx disabling is acting as
intended to prevent unnecessary QRM.

[wsjt-devel] Received RR73 Tx4 msg turning off our "Enable Tx"

2021-08-06 Thread Rich - K1HTV via wsjt-devel
Presently on FT8, when we turn on our “Tx enable” button to call a station
ending a QSO with another station, when we receive his Tx4 “ RR73” message,
WSJT-X disables our “Enable Tx” button.

Even when calling with a different Tx tone frequency, as to not cause
on-freq QRM, as long as our Rx window is within 50 Hz of the station we
want to call, the disabling of "Tx Enable" occurs.

Is there any reason why this feature couldn't be eliminated, so we can
proceed calling that station without having to re-enable the “Enable Tx”
button when an "RR73" message is received?

Rich – K1HTV

[wsjt-devel] WSJT-X v2.4.0 ** WSJT-X\status-file.txt

2021-08-06 Thread Dan Malcolm via wsjt-devel
Win10.

After running a few hours, I begin getting error messages from WSJT-X saying it
can't find "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\WSJT-X". That folder is indeed
missing. No surprise since it's in a "temp" folder. What is a surprise is
that the missing folder should be under constant use and therefore, I would
assume, protected as long as WSJT-X is running and re-established when WSJT-X
is once again operational. If my assumption is correct, then why is it
disappearing? Is there a way to either protect it, or move it to another
folder?

I'm only building the RC's in COPR, once we reach full release I'll build
for Fedora proper.

Tnx Richard

I wait, when I get normal Fedora update. I'm aware your
site and some times tested from there.
Now have time to calm down a bit and wait official updates
from Fedora.

You can use my COPR test packages if using Fedora, or worst case download
and unpack the RPM to get the source:

$ rpm2cpio .rpm | cpio -idmv

Yeah, known issue with their firewall blocking ranges that some algorythm has
determined is a source of intrusion attempts. Use a VPN or Tor or equivalent.

I suppose it would be easy enough to mirror to Amazon S3 or somewhere, but
that's a rathole, and what we call "An Easy Task"
