[xmail] glst white list

2005-01-20 Thread Tony Wu
Hi,

in my config file, i set both mnet & xnet, e.g.
mnet=0.0.0.0,0.0.0.0,255.255.255.248
xnet=1.2.3.4,255.255.255.255

but it seems not working, and i need to change it to

mnet=0.0.0.0,0.0.0.0,255.255.255.248
xnet=1.2.3.4,255.255.255.248

and then i work. is it a bug or i make some mistake?

thanks a lot
tony

[xmail] Re: telnet . 25 question

2005-01-20 Thread Spyros Tsiolis
OK,

This is definitely odd.

I telnetted today from a machine on the internal network and it worked fine.
BTW, the mail server is in a DMZ. That is no reason someone should not
telnet
from the internal network; Especially when you telnet to port 110 and it
used
to work (it still does).

Many thanks for the help,

s.

[xmail] Backup all messages

2005-01-20 Thread Kouba Tomas
Hello,

I would like backup all incoming and outgoing messages. For example one
message is one file on HD. How at it?

Thx.

I use Xmail/w32.

P.S.: Sorry, my English is not good.

[xmail] Spool file error

2005-01-20 Thread Sergio Perrone

The problem seems to be that Xmail tries to get a 'xxx.rej' file what
doesn´t exists.
As the name is something like
'\\?\f:\mailroot\spool\19\20\mess\1105945720650.1712.25.apolo.rej', I
guess the server looks for that SPECIFIC name, what is obviously
generated at real time, then : it was generated by Xmail server itself.

Is this ok, Davide?

Or, should I configure something else to avoid this file creation and
avoid the error in spool file processing?
The filter feature is configured to reject the offending message, and I
get the Xmail message as Postmaster due this rejection. All seems to
work fine, except this error.

Thanks.

Sergio

Does the standard XMail init script work on BSD systems? If so, then my
instructions for building your own binary should also work for BSD. If you
have a moment, take a look at
http://www.ubaight.com/xmail/BeginnersGuide.html#BasicSetup and see if these
instructions work. You can send me any changes at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks.

You can do it using a filter. But you have to dig the documentation and
the links inside the XMail home page to have a grasp of them.

No, it's ok. XMail *tried* to open it, and the sys library sets an error.=

 I have seen this too but only once.
Unfortunately I didn't save the file or look into it further.
I do not use any filters.
At 03:34 PM 19/01/2005, you wrote:

Please, Davide:

Remember my problem on Xmail 1.21 over W2000 (mail "RE: problem with

my spool structure shows spool errors in the Event Manager regulary (a
few per day). The server works, and the file system is REALLY OK.

An example:
"...
ErrCode   =3D -56
ErrString =3D Invalid spool file
Unable to load spool file
"\\?\f:\mailroot\spool\14\20\mess\1105820563391.2044.3e.apolo.rej"=
SMTP-Error =3D "554 Error loading spool file"

Is the problem the ".rej" ?
The documentation refers ".rej" as the extension of a file response with
filters processing, and I=B4m not using them (I mean a ".rej" file; I use
filters, of course).

XMail automatically load and remove those files after a filter execution.
If the filter executable though, takes too much time and timeout, XMail
continues, and if the filter generates the .rej after that, it will remain
there.
