This is a live review of Nate DeYonker's live set last Wednesday at
Foran's. It's live in the sense that I wrote this pretty much
stream-of-conscience as Nate was playing. It was a really good set, and
I'm much enthused for Nate's upcoming material to be released.

There's been rumour of Hawtin hitting Melbourne for NYE, but nothing else
has popped up in the rumour mill as yet.
Did you catch Hawtin earlier on in
Hawtin was saying in March that he had two requests to play NYE in
Australian capitals (not Sydney) and that looks like eventuating, Acquaviva
was meant to come out a few months back (around the same time as Common
Factor, same club and promoters) but it was posponed. I have heard some

Really nice guy, very, very interesting to talk and listen to, great ideas
about art and techno, etc, love all of his records and production, but as a
DJ? I think with Hawtin you either think he's great or you wonder what the
big deal is and that is

Just in case : there is a one-page review of the DEMF in the latest issue of

Interesting mix of twenty-seven mainly Detroit tracks. It sounds rawer than
Rolando's mix CD, perhaps less well sequenced - like he got some of his
favourite records and just threw them down onto tape - but I dig this
approach.

Allstars and Rockhouse I believe are the same place; they don't stock things
but rather order them in, meaning you don't stand much chance at getting

The 1st one is Dajae Is it all over my face (Green Velvet's Vox Mix) on
