Ive been checking technotourist but there's no KMS, no planet E, no 430
west, no Derrick May, no Kenny, no drexciya. Seems fishy. Last year I went
to KMS party which was not advertised, but this year does not seem as
promising, the line up at the festival is mediocre, and morale is down. So
I remember seeing a post a while back about a KMS afterparty at The Works on
Monday night following DEMF. I think you can check their website for info
at www.theworksdetroit.com or even the KMS site should have something soon
if they don't already.
As far as I know The Works is doing a regular

Yep. It's a few weeks too early to say how things will turn out precisely,
but rest assured you
'Course not. You know what I mean though. You've got to think (at the very
least) that the diversity of opinion (perhaps even in the same individuals)
must be wide ... But anyway, you're in the Netherlands!

Naturally, it always is. Won't happen this time (Monsieur Le Pen's full
election). The left's been shocked out of its complacency and will probably
mobilize. In future, as long as people keep booking people like those below,
it won't happen anytime soon ... I hope!

Thanks to all those who came down last time and made our Disco Nouveau night
with Ed DMX such a success.
One side is from Rob Hood with a minimal (wow wath a suprise KJ) techno
track with piano loop. Not one of his best tracks but it still sounds great.
The b-side is a stunning electro track from Heath 'V-Max' Brunner who used
to do some of the NSC cuts.
Dunno if he is still working at NSC...
NSC is National Sound Corporation, a pressing plant in Detroit that's been
central to the city's music industry for decades. I believe they were
pressing Motown records back in the day, and a lot of the P-Funk material
was pressed there. They noticed the techno explosion, and the main guy there
And don't forget the UR/Shake/KMS double picture disc. 2 sides adorned with the
artwork of Alan Oldham, 3 fairly decent tracks by Shake, a strange thing by
Kevin Saunderson with vocals by a young boy that doesn't quite sound right and
an absolutly amazing UR track that I've yet to hear played
NSC is NOT a pressing plant! They just do the cuts. It started as a 2 man
business somewhere in Detroit. After Ron Murphy his partner died he changed
the name from NSC to Sound Enterprises but kept using the NSC logo in his
cut to honour his partner.

NSC is NOT a pressing plant!
OK, OK, I was wrong :) I was confused between those who cut the master and
those who press up the discs.

HI
Kickin' was a UK based label that put out a lot of techno in the early-mid

I have a few and they definatly did a lot of compilation LPs, the best probably
