Well most excellent news! However, comparing the atmosphere of the 'techno'
scene in late-summer 2002 to when the pair (temporarily) disappeared by and

Definitely no laptop. Yes, special records with timecodes which you prime
the MP3s to recognize. I think it's just records, software ... I've seen
Final Scratch slipmats though so maybe those are included ... those are the
clincher for me ;o)

My main query is whether it's really worth buying it. The software may be
patented, but I doubt whether it's possible to patent the principle of
records as an analogue interface between the dj and mp3. Of course some
comany's going to try and copy it.

Yeh, I've tried it out and, despite being sceptical beforehand, I have to
say I was extremely impressed. There is no obvious latency (and I was mixing
quite agressively) and the UI is very straightforward. Plus, you can assign
the same track to both records for instant doubles :-)
Having said
how easy do you think it would be to set up and use in a club environment ?
Im really tempted to get one at somepoint but Im not sure about the
practicalities.

Yeh, like i said, not worth the trouble to someone who doesn't play out a

be worth not lugging crates around airports on a regular basis...

There already is a company that's copied the concept...I can't seem to remember

Hi Matt,
yeh, the records are vinyl and feel just like normal records.
Also, there's no problem playing other records in a set as well as using
Final Scratch. The FS box feeds back into the line inputs on your mixer, so
you can just switch back to phono and take the driect input from your deck
