NO NO NO NO!
Why have they announced this when they don't even have their website up
yet?
I would have gone had I known in advance but now there's no chance of me
being able to get the money together for it...
I even emailed the organizers and have yet to hear back from them about the
US dates?
i was in chicago this weekend and heard some talk about morgan geist
playing at smart bar on some upcoming thursday. does anybody know the
details on this? (in particular, the date?)
The gig (scheduled for Saturday) was cancelled. Does anyone know why?

I think it's just because you said you disliked some people's...
deferential attitudes toward... the players, which might
translate, in a
jokey way, as you saying that you dislike player-haters. That

the lyrics to that song come into Marc's head. I doubt it's

I recorded it on MD last night. Listened to some of it on the way to work.
Lovely track selection.

I saw a great laptop performance last week, the artist didn't do much.

This makes no sense, when I go out because someone is playing, I go to

yeah yeah - its a bit open-ended this thread, it depends who you go to see,
for what reason and what your exspectations are. Persoanlly I like a bit of
action in the eye candy department which I why I totally enjoyed seeing

I agree. Sometimes it's the people *watching* the shows that are boring.

this is the reason that DJs play for several hours and live PAs are
typically 1 hour or less.

I'm really after the Derrick May vibe - that certain funk and groove he has
and it will come out whether it was a real mix or a computer splice and

vibe will come out because it is his mind that is doing either mix types -
the EP I is really interesting. two tracks. the A side is a strong techno

Would somebody like to help me get this straight: When you speak about the
1st wave of Detroit I guess it's Juan,
Tight bass lines, great rhythm sections, and micro vocals that
build into a nice coherent vocal track. I'd definitely recommend
picking it up when it's out.
The moonstar remixes are quite good as well. Go Todd!

And did Neil Olliviera write a book (a novel?) about Detroit techno?
Yes, but Reality Slap wasn't as much about Detroit techno per se, but techno
was kind of the backdrop of what was happening in the main characters social
