I'm less than 48 hours away from leaving for 2 weeks in London.
I'll be staying down in Knightsbridge near Sloane Square.
Obviously I know about the Scion show and Lost the weekend after
that. Any other interesting events going on in the next 2 weeks
(music or non-music) to be aware of? Please
wow. i don't know what else to say except that he totally tore it up.
great mixing, great tunes. i'd seen him twice before and been disappointed
both times, but had never really lost faith that someday i'd see him and
be amazed. just wanted to say that, especially after that whole thread
about
Just to remind the London heads that Scion are playing this Friday all the

I've started building my collection on discogs and just got an email from
someone wanting to buy one of my records - is this common?
None of my records on there are for sale, I just use the website as a
back-up to my library database I have at home.
So do people use Discogs alot to sell and
Yes, very, very common indeed.
Check my profile for a good way to dis-courage people from doing this (it
still happens though.)

If I have a record that I want to sell I'll send an email to people who have it
in there wants list, so I suppose that people will also try to buy records off
peeps that have them in there collection..

It is common... I have sometimes emailed ppl to see if they would part
with things., just as I get asked if I want to sell stuff...
I think if u don't want any questions, just put a message in your
profile saying nothing is for sale..
Usually works..

I only got mine up a few days ago, sure enough the next day I got the same
sort of email. ,seems like more people will email you about your want list
though.
What i do find annoying is people saying i have this record 'from your want
list' without naming a price, then when you ask its like 60
Hey, don't knock it - I've had some cracking info come through from discogs
members, and it's also nice to know (for me) that my tunes (or wants) are
either a) available or b) wanted.
I suppose if you already know that then it might get annoying. And the
tendency to overcharge is very true -
I posted this before but it didn't come through:
Aril Brikha is playing an exclusive live set in Australia on Friday 23 April
at Honkytonks, Melbourne.
Supports: Phunk De Sonique live, Ben Cromack, and Boogs.
Entry: a mere $15.
And meaning I won't be able to see them :(
I'll be playing there as part of Signal Sever on 30.4..

i've been solicited on a few occasions. however, when i have attempted to
negotiate a sale at a price that i am happy with, i have received no
response. i think some folks just give up on ebay and GEMM and make an
effort at acquiring rare titles from collectors online.

Wondering why would one want to put up a list of all the records in their
collection if they weren't for sale? Does the person with the best collection
win something or get receive greater functionality from the website?

And it acts as a sort of DIY group effort to catalogue the music we like -
especially for those labels that are either no longer in existence, don't
have websites, or don't list their discogs.
