don't complain about discogs not having an entry for a record - it's a

there that are going to come down and save us. existential type stuff -
rely on yourself, don't dream of being saved/helped by others from another

That is harsh as he doesn't live like that at all. He's v frugal in some

I have to own up to this rather flip statement James. It wasn't Sakari.
Maybe I will add the release. Discogs can be mighty frustrating at times

as it is, when it was down!)

Just a short spam message to announce that we got a picture gallery online from
the UR night at the Astropolis festival in France. There are some exclusive

Yeah 'cheeky's a word which comes to mind. However, I feel some sympathy
with attempts to knock off the Tiesto's and whatnots from their

this kind of stuff surely can help as a promotion-tool for dj´s/artists
and can help them with their business ..

I thought it was quite a reasonable request actually, they asked nicely and it
would indeed be nice to see old Dezzer or Carl at the top of the list instead

It's nothing to do with skill, it's a popularity contest.
Do you really want to be the most popular dj in the world?
I understand the frustration that some people think becuase tietso is
number one he is the top (skill) dj in the world. The
I totally agree, don't see it as cheeky at all.
It would be nice to see some techno DJ's in the list (even though I think
our votes wont make much difference.)
I've placed my votes.
So people like Rob are to blame for the 'Sing Along To Drexciya's Christmas

You're a dead man Taylor!

I voted, though not for any of the Retrovert peeps, but somehow I
suspect that we won't be seeing Norm Talley's name climbing the
rankings. A wasted vote perhaps?
would be an interesting experiment if all on this list would vote for
him
to see later if/where he pops up in those top 100 ?
Sounds like an interesting experiment to me, why not eh?
Has anyone voted using their actual email address? Just wondering if a
confirmation email is required to cast your vote. I put in a false email
because I don't really trust journalists (present company excepted).

I like my artists starving in garrets - it's what inspires the creative impulse

That's the point though isn't it, that you can vote for whoever you like? I
think Norm Talley is reasonably well placed in the obscurity stakes.
One of the problems with starving
nope.
I go to college, work full time, and have finished no less than 84 tracks this
year.. if you have to get paid to make music worth it to you, don't make
music. if you derive your creative motivations from the prospect of money or
attention you're a hollow soul in my opinion.

I'm with Rob on this issue.
This top 100 is about as much relevance to the music I love as a poll
in Hello or Heat magazine.
