Never even heard of that one. Remember 'Friendster'? Though :).

Multiply anyone ? who remembers that now ?
Ooops. Right. Believe it works in a way that in this case Recloose has to be
your 'friend' on your myspace account and then you would receive those
bulletins from them and link would probably work then. As mentioned earlier,

I agree with Kent. Selling out is about compromising values.
I will also add - An artist has to eat - and it's great that they have
other means of income other than just make records. Better something
cool like an adidas ad, than say flipping burgers or being stuck in an

here's a list of 313ish stuff I've found over the past couple weeks at
the unofficial syntax going out of business sale. i was up until
recently unemployed and the warehouse is half a block from my
apartment so i've managed to spend some serious time there on three
digging sessions.

Form letters suck. Any request sent to us that does not even recognize
who we are, that was obviously just bcc'd to a bunch of people at
once, we ignore. Personal communication works.

Are there any music buyers on the list? I'm looking for any
information on form letters/outlines to send to labels to request
promo materials for in-store play. A friend of mine is, how you say,
a little slow and he isn't getting the results he wants from his
current method of contacting labels.
oh, but i totally agree with you when you talk about how
selling out or keeping it real are "mythic attributes".
In fact, I wasn't talking about Theo or Richie at all, just
remarking on how those who scream sell-out and the
double-measures that goes along with it.

Theo is going to get all sorts of love from the 313 list that Richie

Watching that video doesn't make me think Theo is selling out to
Adidas. It makes me think that Theo and a Film-maker got a bunch of

it is the 4th time this video pops up here ;)
btw: i'm still wondering why, but adidas is not the only major company that
discovered theo parrish for their marketing activities. in april he will be in
germany (with omar-s and robert owens) for a "Coke DJ Culture Tour":

To get the most coverage I'd do both. Different people prefer
different sites.
You might also want to do a virb.com account as this is getting more
popular. It's basically a more stylish MySpace.
Good luck

Indeed, I basically look at the new releases Piccadilly have in via their

Although the format is clumsy and frustrating, I like Myspace as well. It's
also good if you "subscribe" to an artist, you get updates on any new music
they may put up. It's better for more obscure ambient/iDm/experimental stuff
IMHO though.

Cheers for this. One of my new year resolutions was to shop more widely. I
tend to spend a lot of time listening to too many of
the new releases at one local shop with the consequence the next batch arrive
there before I've finished and I end up never going
elsewhere. I used to shop in 2 local
