OK, here is the link... sounds like an old Chicago house track to me, never
heard it before. Just right click on the turntable and save off the MP3.

Indeed it is a very good mix... I am also curious about the track just
before BFC - Galaxy (14.10 mins). Anybody know this one?

I want to identify a track on the AfroConnection mix available from the
retroactive website. It is about 35mins in and has the lyrics 'Disco

Can anybody help?

Have the very same bootleggers also repressed the classic 'intergalactic
beats' album on Planet-E? Or is that an official Planet-E release? It is
available on the HTFR site but I have not seen it anywhere else yet. I have
acquired a copy and it looks suspect! I am aware that the CD has been
I thought as much... I can unterstand then getting away with doing boots of
the BUZZ and PHEERCE CITI records, both labels are defunkt and there would
be no one to complain about it (apart from a few folks and purists on this
list). But a Planet-E release! Such a classic album! Carl must be

Don't forget the Duane Bradley mix of Big Fun on the original KMS 12 -
that mix was heavy. When you listen to the Duane Bradley version you
can see where Basic Channel got some of their influence from...

Well I guess from the site it will be released on the 3rd of October...
I would assume that the one on eBay is a promo, unless 3 tracks are
going to do a Peacefrog and knock out a limited press...
I really like the Brikha track, great sound!

Has anybody else got a copy of 'Essence Of A Dream' by Risque III (K
Alexi etc.) on Stride Records out of Chicago? I think is by far one of
K Alexi's best tracks... way ahead of it's time.

I think 1st Bass originally came out on Express Records (EXP014):

The record you mention in your email is some strange KMS Italy release
on clear vinyl.

As far as I am aware there is only one Quadrant 12 on planet e - The
Quadrant ep was originally issued on black vinyl. Then apparently Carl
found some extra labels (IMO some of the best label art around...) and
proceeded to press up a further batch on blue vinyl.
Infinition is a track on the
Alex is correct:
Original planet e release with the original coloured label - black vinyl
1st issue - blue vinyl 2nd issue (I think around 200-300 copies of this
blue vinyl with original coloured labels were pressed).
Followed by the RS release then the planet-e light blue vinyl reissue

I think it is true to say that there has been a downturn in the
popularity of dance music over the last couple of years or so. Just
look at some of the mainstream club brands like Cream and Ministy. I
know for a fact that these 'brands' are now looking at emerging markets
like Eastern Europe
Talking about label art, has anybody got any news on Abdul Haqq? His
cover work for Buzz Records was outstanding.
Yeah, I stayed in the room that Gerald was playing in (even though it
was a sweatbox, some aircon would have been appreciated!). Really great
set with loads of classic chicago acid house and other early sounds.
I also thought it was a good idea to have a record stall in the place, I
bought a
This 12 also has IMHO one of the finest Acid House tracks ever commited
to vinyl... well worth picking up (If you can find it)!

No, it was
I am 99.9% certain that the pressing with the Alan Oldham artwork is the
third issue. The original issue was on a silver and black label, I put
the scan on discogs a while back:
http://www.discogs.com/view_images/?type=Rwid=4282
The second issue is the one with the blue / white label.
I have never seen an orange label pressing, has someone got a scan they
can send me as I am curious...

I've been going down Notting Hill Gate for about 10 years as well...
Chef (I think his name is Sean 'The Knowledge' P) is certainly one of
the more polite members of staff - The guy with the teeth is ok...
however I can't comment on the rest, once I was in there one member of
staff was looking
It is also worth checking out the Soul/Dance Exchange in Notting Hill Gate -
similar to Reckless the pricing structure can be all over the place, and the
staff are moody 95% of the time. However you can turn up some gems in there -
I found Pod - The Vangard EP in there for £10 along with Art
There is also a copy of this record on clear vinyl with a stickered
plastic sleeve, I think this might have been issued through the planet-e
fan club.
Does anybody else have a copy like this?
