filesHe could do what you're saying cubase does in ACID(which is not a
toy---it's an audio program for making music...) If he samples them they
become wav, or another signal- not MIDI. So, why should he get

Recycle for waves and cubase for midi...
Or Vegas and Acid...
Or Logic as recommended before
Or Protools(lot's a dough)
You can always try logic but I know recycle was designed for what you want
