Yea, i agree with everything Jim has to say except the part about the Korg ER-1, listen to it and fuck around with it several times before you buy. Remember, you can get decent sounds out of crap gear if your creative but with a little extra dough you can buy decent gear that will do a lot more

Have you ever heard of an effects processor, they do wonders to drum sounds... The salesman at guitar center can also help you out with this question.. FYI, the MC 303 contains direct samples from the 909 that can be tuned(with a knob movement) to exact replication of the original, if you know
