I have some E2cs. The sound is nice but I use my Sennheiser cx300s
(be careful to get genune ones) much much more as the Shures are
incredibly tricky to install in your ear (and get them in and out
again if anyone talks to you)
The Sennheiser's sound is not that different to the e2c.

I would recommend any of the Shure's (I use E2cs) but the fact is, I do get
through a pair every 9-months on average.
Whether that's due to my greater-than-normal carelessness or the fact that
they're not built to last much longer, I'm not sure. But I have had 3 or 4
pairs so far.
