Yesterday I was talking bollox about that Drexciya track. I meant not 'Mission To Oxciya Sandor...' on Harnessed The Storm, but 'Acquatic Cataclysm'. Sorry. If you listen to that though, I'm sure you'll hear what sounds very much like those samples too. K

Lina actually has 2 albums - one, the first, Stranger On Earth on Elektra that is absolutely awesome. The new one is Hidden Beach I think. I know James Curd of Greenskeepers was familiar with her. It's a real shame she has not received more recognition. It's said that Dallas Austin jacked her sty

Also, I think the Rob Hood EP "Underestimated" has a track that opens with a swing bit before it goes into the usual minimal techno bidness. ~David > not sure if this is what you are talking about..but i have an Armando > album with a track on it called "Real Jazz" from the one world one fu

I am sorry to have possibly steered someone wrong yesterday with my post. The label I was thinking of is NOT swing city, it's g-swing. They're related to greenskeepers in some way, but I'm pretty sure mike Dixon has a heavy hand in the label as well. And this type of stuff is pretty much all this l

The Greenskeepers are the obvious examples but there's also a neo-soul singer called Lina who has that vibe and is extremely underrated in the US. She's currently down with the Hidden Beach side of things (Jill Scott). You can look her up on Amazon. > On Wed, October 26, 2005 7:57 pm, [EMAIL PRO

Swing city (label) run by mike dixon (I think) is the first to spring to mind. I know of others but can't pull them outta my brain. Funny thing is, I don't really like the style all that much. I'll see if I can find more labels that specialize. Some of the earlier releases on the igloo label (derri
