Hi Fernando,
Save a copy of the Excelfile as a Tab-Delimited Text fieldworker (extension
.txt). Launch 4D and navigate-to “Import” from a file, select .TXT as the file
type, and map each column in the text file to which table and field the data
needs to go. Simple.

The issue you face is that 32-bit apps will not run on OS-Versions after Mojave
So, the v16 64-Bit Server should run on OS-Versions after Mojave. The v16
Client is 32-Bit and will NOT run on OS-Versions after Mojave.

Hi All,
I recently “inherited” a 4D v12 (Windows) database. The original developer has
forgotten the Designer Password. But, fortunately, he had enabled the settings
to allow the Administratror to access the design environment and the customer
had that password. So, I’ve been able to make the c

Hi All,
I’ve inherited an ancient 4D App that was last updated-to 4D v12. My customer
wants me to make it compatible with modern 4D Versions. I opened it in 4D v15
and have replaced all the obsolete stuff except for two calls to “GRAPH TABLE”.
I understand that I need to replace this with SVG.

Hi all,
I’m solicitating your opinions.
I’ve picked-up a new 4D client. They have an existing 4D system (v12 running on
Win7) that has been stagnant for quite e few years. I believe it was originally
written under 2004 or maybe even 6.8.5. They’re looking to replace their
computers with Win10

Just a thought…might this error relate to a “group” of objects (perhaps

Hi John,
The i3 only has two physical processing cores, each of which may operate with
two logical processors. Logical processors running on one physical core are no
where as speedy as two physically independent cores. Also 8-GB of RAM vs. 16-GB
of RAM certainly will affect throughput.

Hi Alan,
Just save your spreadsheet (Excel) as file-type Tab-Delmited-Text (.txt). Then
in 4D, navigate to File…Import…, change the file type to .txt, select your
saved file, select the table into which to import the data, and then match the
data (columns) to the proper field and import it.

I’m in the initial stages of discussing a potential new 4D Database with a

When I do this, I do see the small window to select a process to trace…but, it
goes away almost instantly.
I’ll try a while longer.
Thanks anyway,

Hi All,
I have a very mature application for a high-precision welding operation. I
had written the original app back in 1984 using SMART (a DOS Database App).
I re-wrote this app in 4D at the beginning of 2015. The "conversion" went
smoothly and there are no known issues. It is presently on 4D v15
