It explains how to clean up orphaned servers in your AD by using the
metadata cleanup. One thing that I have seen is that after you run metadata
cleanup, manually remove the server
The main reason for looking at them is for temporary reasons... We have
brought in some temporary machines until the new ones get here. So I was
going to set those people up with Roaming Profiles and when their permanent
machine comes in make it their mandatory one.

You may want to consider a few things
How many users really travel from computer to computer
How big the profiles can get and server space taken
How long it will take to download the profiles each time the users logs on
Are any users going to be across slow networks or wan links

On a multi controlers W2K domain we want to secure profiles service to get
high avalaibility of logon service. We don't want to use a cluster server
(with the profiles on the shared disks) because of their cost. Of course
disk space used to store profiles can be a RAID array of disks.

the opportunity to perform the same procedure you will need to execute and
