I just ran this query:
Netdom query /server:dc1 fsmo
and
Netdom query /server:dc2 fsmo
Both show DC2 as the Infrastructure owner. My assumption now is that
there is something wrong with the version of DSQuery I have. I only say
this because every other tool suggested (netdom, adsiedit,

I am working on a
test lab (just built between today and yesterday). I have 2 DC's, DC1 and
DC2. I just moved the FSMO roles to even them out a bit. This is how they
are right now:
DC1 - PDC, SCHEMA,
and GC (I know this is not a FSMO)
DC2 - RID, NAME,
INFRA
My only problem

The
infrastructure master should not be on a GC, although in a single domain
forest I don't think the infrastructure master actually does
anything.

think I know what the cause is, but I thought I would ask for second
opinions. We have a client that is using AD for their network. They
have 2 DCs who are also their DNS servers. One DC, who happens to be the
PDC Emulator, can see everything in AD. By everything I mean all

reason I would restart the servers is to force the issue with the netlogon
service. Besides that, there are any other issues at this site and would
like to see a clean reboot and the associated error messages that go along with
restarting all the various services. Thanks.
