Well, I m truly surprised. I've regularly handled Steatodas and never been
bitten. I've also not heard of such an extreme reaction in a healthy person.

There are in Brighton and surrounding areas a species of spider known as the
False Widow which does bite even the tiny little babies bite, a large one can
make you ill for about a week, but its not fatal. I had a load in my house at
one time, which is how I got to know about them. Thankfully
