I tried using raw logical volumes a while ago and had the same troubles. I
seem to remember finding a document which stated that raw disk access was
not supported on Linux.

me).

To demonstrate, if you stop TSM and start it in CMD prompt (with the drive
mapped), it will see all local mapped drives, and your backup will
probably work.
This is one example where TSM would be better on Linux :-)

I've noticed that there has been some interest for TSM on Linux (on this
list and with customers that I've seen). Some customers are quite happy to
use it with the current supported drivers, other people are concerned that
the drivers are not current as they could be and would like to see
going to process.
