Just installed TSM Linux x86 client 5.1.5.14 on Red Hat Linux version 9.0
with Linux Kernel 2.4
The TSM server is 5.1.5.4 on AIX.
If I back up files individually, it works OK. But when I try to do an
incremental back up of a file system, I get the following errors:
ANS1005E TCP/IP read error on
Can someone tell us which file systems the Tivoli Linux client
currently supports? The version we are testing does not
recognize our Reiser or ext3 file systems.

Client version 5.1.5 supports reiserfs. Not sure about ext3.

v4.1 should work fine while v4.2 might need update of some Linux
components.

I have the same problem. Asked Tivoli and was bluntly told that TSM 4.2
is only supported on (I guess you are using Red Hat?) Red Hat 7.0 or
higher. For RH 6.2 you need to run the TSM 4.1 client.
