I also strongly advise installing current maintenance, as 5.4.0.2 is pretty
old. There have been several defects fixed in OFS support in the current
client levels, so it is possible these will alleviate the issues.

have to perform a custom install to get it. If you really believe this was
the typical install and no one explicitly went into the setup wizard and
enabled open file support, then you should contact IBM support for further
