Hi all,,
Today i have downloaaded TSM4.1 client code for windows , and it extracted
well. in New directory all files are there .
but as
what i am doing .
1 . down loaded .bat and .exe file
2. run command *.bat c:\new
starts inflating /extracting total 173 files. 108MB.(113,358,746 bytes.)
3. cd c:\new
there is no disk1 , only files are there , one file is there setup.exe
4. run setup.exe.

should i first remove 3.7 client from my Nt box?
When you extract the file, you need to use the -d flag. What is happening
to you is that all the files are going into one subdirectory, and the
setup.exe for the ODBC driver is overwriting the setup.exe for the TSM
client.

InstallShield for the Web was discussed and discarded since, as
far as we are able to determine, it does not provide for a silent
install. There are a lot of users for whom silent install is very
important.
As far as other methods go, we provide a companion .BAT file to
help with the extraction (

Is anybody using the silent install for the new 4.1 client? Every NT
machine I have tried it on has Dr Watsoned withmsiexec.exe (the new ms

If I run a manual installation there are no problems.

I pretty much already expect the answer to be a resounding "yes" on this one - but its

Can we run 4.1 Clients with a 3.7.4 server on AIX 4.3.3

I am not aware of any incompatabilities between a v4.1 client and a v3.7 server.
We are running 3.7.4.4 servers on NT and have numerous Windows v4.1 clients
without any problems.
For what it's worth, I would recommend the 4.1.2.12 flavour of Windows clients -

Hello,
Have a win98 client machine that had a hard disk failure. It was running TSM

I try to restore with the 5.1 client, it restores about 10,000 files and
then consistently throws a generic application error and dies!

TSM 5.1 is supported on Windows Me (which is technically a member of the
"Win9X" family/architecture), but not Windows 95 and 98.
