There is no more TSM ODBC driver after 5.5 because starting with TSM 6.1,
you can use DB2's native ODBC driver to interrogate the TSM server tables.
However, the DB2 ODBC driver will not be compatible with the legacy TSM
server SELECT interface, since it would access the DB2 tables.

Debbie, the ODBC driver isn't inherently faster than other methods for
SELECTing data from the TSM database (it is really just a pass-through
mehanism for sending SELECT statements to the server and returning results
to the application).

Hi Paul,
Try the 5.1.0.1 ODBC driver. From Excel XP, I am able to use the Import
feature as well as the DB query feature (via MSQRY32) to get data into an
Excel spreadsheet.
By the way, even they are not supported, with this version of the driver,
I have had success in connecting via:
- DB2
the database.
I'm not sure why you had to log off/log on W2K to get the ODBC driver to
work, but I won't argue with success! :-)
Actually Andy,
I cannot remember what I was trying to do with EXCEL XP. But, when I
tried
it again I get an application error trying to read location 0x0. A test
What version of the ODBC driver are you using, which version of Excel, and
what symptoms are you seeing? The latest ODBC driver should work okay with
Excel 97 and 2000 (haven't tested with Office XP yet, but in theory,
should work there, too). You can confirm the version by starting the ODBC

Paul,
For the last six months or so I've used Excel 97 with the ODBC link as a

Jack,
What client OS are you running?
I just installed the TSM Windows client onto Windows XP, and my

Upgrading the TSM client from 4.1.3 to the latest 4.2.x did not solve the
problem.
I'm only into this problem less than an hour, so I haven't had
I have ODBC installed on my client. Do I need to enable something on our

No.
