We bought a used Kohler from a farmer in Alberta had it shipped to us for under $30k. Worked perfectly with a little maintenance. Even ran a full work day on it when our power company was replacing a pole. But I didn't want to rely on it so I made a sub panel for our NOC with a manual override

I always get the Generac “cold weather kit” now. It’s really just a battery heater pad and a heater sleeve that goes around the oil filter. It’s overpriced for what it is, but when you get theirs it’ll have the correct wires and connectors already. I think it’s ok to pay extra to not have to

At 30k you are getting into the big boy stuff. I want to say our most recent 500KW cummins purchase (only a few years old) was in the 50k range. Smaller units are a good bit cheaper. These are higher end units that are tanks. Easy to set up remote start with a decent ATS (also cheap)

I used to have a rule of thumb that simple generators are 15 cents per watt on up. Generacs with ATS were in the 25 cent range or more. From: Daniel Pautz via AF Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2022 12:43 PM To: 'AnimalFarm Microwave Users Group' Cc: Daniel Pautz Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Larger Stand

185 cfm works very well. And they are the most common. But even one half that size will do the job. From: Josh Luthman Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2022 1:02 PM To: AnimalFarm Microwave Users Group Cc: Chuck McCown Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Renting a Rodder How big of an air compressor do you nee
