S16's we're installing with DC, fiber, and bbdge just for backup. Doing a
port channel up the tower over different mediums (bbdge and fiber) and
redundant power is pretty sweet.

CHR's work fine at AWS, we've tested them pretty extensively. Getting the
routing tables and default gateways to work correctly at AWS is the bigger
issue. You basically turn the CHR into a NAT instance in AWS parlance.

We looked at visp (who seemed awesome), ended up using whmcs with radius
(since we do a decent amount of web hosting) and it's been great. Keeping
an eye on Sonar though, it looks very promising.

v13-eth1-locID.tld.net when it comes to dns. If you use periods in your
names, you're actually creating subzones, which can greatly complicate your
life and your dns. Unless you have a very strong reason to use sub zones,
like you run dns in
Jon is spot on. You could dial down the output power with CHIRP or
something for MURS and GMRS and probably not get caught. It'd be like
running Mikrotik on DFS. Not legal and just waiting to get caught, but they
chances could be slim.
