We got a pretty smokin deal at this venue. They get $4000 plus they make over
$10,000 in gross food sales. We get $35 for a 27hr event. Total budget is
around 8 to 10k an event so we make about that for a local charity that we
choose. Just to rent tables and chairs is like $1,300.

Hi. How much do you charge each attendee?? What does it cost you to rent
the facility?

Yeah. They had the discounts in we just had to install some cam tails. Nothing
better then cam locks for temp power. We struggled for years to find a venue

The good thing about that, a gaming GPU which consumes 150-250W when under
load, actually playing a game (or using it for something like bitcoin
mining) is only 15-20W maximum when idle.

My 390x draws a staggering 250 watts. CPU socket has a 125w thermal for
CPU. I leave it on... a lot. It doesn't cost me a ton.

Granted, this is not a 'modern' gaming computer. It used a ton of power.
I built it nearly ten years ago.

Not like it actually consumes 800W, it's just *capable* of getting near
there in a really high load scenario...
a modern gaming desktop is typically about 75W thermal for the CPU, up to
150W thermal for the GPU (a $450 card whether nvidia or AMD), plus misc
30-45W other stuff. For example:
My last gaming computer had a 800 watt power supply. That thing would kill
our power bill if I left it running 24/7.

I spent a lot of time learning to fly in the desert combat mod. At first
they laughed at me, later they feared me.

Ah, ok, so 700A was for the entire venue.
Not sure most buildings have enough independent plugs on 15/20A circuits
to do this.
Were they using some generators or other exterior configuration?
I haven’t ever done this kind of large scale event
You hit me right in the nostalgia =(

Eh, I preferred LAN parties on a much smaller scale where everyone
present was playing in the same game. 16 was ideal with 8v8 teams. We
knew everyone's strengths and weaknesses to seat teams together.
